Ya boy was a young'n back then so i don't remember anything, how tf did he sell so much? :damn:

Presently the dude is more irrelevant then just irrelevant, if that made sense :pachaha:

Getting less then a 100 Fav/RT on twitter :flabbynsick:

he never had any dope features either, like when you saw a Feat. Nelly you never got excited. What was it about him that got so many people to buy his shyt?

I was exceptionally young too but it's no secret as to why this guy was so successful.
The man dropped nothing but heat in the early 00's.
That nikka dropped some of the greatest hip hop singles on the early decade.
You couldn't log onto ITunes and cop Ride Wit Me or 'E.I.' so his albums sold like hotcakes.
Dude had a knack for landing hot records that had staying power.
'Dilemma' and 'Hot in Here' were charting top 10 radio requested countdowns for over a year.
He's a shell of his former self and I don't appreciate him talking grimy about Bean(:beli:) but it's undeniable that Nelly was that dude until the mid 00's.
He made good music, period.

He made huge hits and that's also when labels started slowing down on putting out singles, so you had to buy the album. And everybody was selling then- even off as much as one single, a nikka could hit platinum. And Nelly was scoring like 3 and 4 big hits off one joint, so them sales just kept rackin' up.

It's especially wild how huge he was cause it's not like he had that 'setup' that most successful artists back then had to have. He didn't start off with mega-heavy promotion, or guest spots on other peoples' albums, or affiliated with anybody... dude just came out with a record people fell in love with and kept goin' from there. Very rare for that time.

Country Grammar (song) #1 Billboard 100
E.I. #16
Ride Wit Me #3

Not a single feature of meaning in sight. That's a hit monster for you.

Hot in Herre #1
Dilemma #1
AF1's #3
Over & Over #3
My Place #4

From what was basically a 3 album run - dude had 7 top #5 Billboard 100 hits. 3 #1 singles.

Yo Drake is nowhere near having those type of hits. Jay might after a dozen relevant albums be near that figure. Only 50, Em, Luda & Kanye have more or are close to that level of hit factor.

Most of these solo or with no-name guests too.
