Serious question.

Im pro choice. But i also believe that if a woman wants to have an abortion, thats her choice. I believe both can and should be able to coexist peacefully.

How did we get to where this has become a political debate?

It started to get political in the 1870s when the social purity movement grew in strength.

North America is a conservative country, so its no surprise that a social issue such as birth control would have opposition

Because law makers would like to limit the abilities of organisations that provide women with these options. That’s when it became political, once people trying to start making laws to limit the work those organisations did WITHIN the scope of existing laws

Has to be more to it.

If the republicans are the main ones complaining about single mothers laying up having babies out of wedlock, then collecting public assistance, they should champion pro choice.

Are these organizations government funded?

christians are all about judging and controlling other people. christianity is one of the republicans' main policy drivers. they convince their stupid base that jesus doesn't want abortions, and it becomes a rallying cry :scusthov:

i dont remember the bible saying anything about abortions. as a matter of fact, im pretty sure god killed his only son :skip:

The whole notion that republicans care about kids is BS that i don't even care to debate about.

I really want to know do the people who want these abortions feel that the government should fund it?

Would you rather the government find abortions or find taking care of a whole baby...which one is cheaper?

Fine line indeed.

Only way i believe government should fund it is with rape and pregnancy complications..

Just like people abuse the AID system, they'll abuse government abortions as well..

Besides, there are too many options for birth control now.

it’s a mix between wanting to control women and just a simple wedge issue for the elite on the right to keep the religious vote. most of the elite on the right probably don’t really give a shyt. hell they’ve probably paid for their mistresses abortions multiple times over.

If one of the sources isnt the government, i really don't see the big deal.
i don't see why the government assisting organizations like this is a big deal either, especially when they provide more services than the pro-life procedures in question...
