How did the 2024 leading rushers (Henry & Barkley) fall off so hard after rushing for 1900 and 2000 yards.

Go look at the history of the next season after a running back running for 2000 yards.

Also doesn’t help that Derrick Henry is 31 and Lamar been hurt most of the season so teams can stack the box.

Eagles oline isn’t what it used to be
Landon is hurt, jurgens is hurt (and literally got hurt again this game lol) and Becton is gone and replaced by a first year starter. That coupled with teams stacking the box because you know the guy just ran for 2k last year and an ass O coordinator gets you this. Looks like OP gave up on his Jalen thread and starting something new with this

Eagles have a new oline and a new OC (who comes from the passing side of things but seems to have not done shyt, like many lower ranked coaches under powerful OCs and an offensive HC).

Don’t know about Ravens but seems like a complete collapse on all points. Lamar was basically putting up those numbers like he was playing yard football with his friends as receivers

Remember when last season, everyone was saying the Giants were so dumb for letting Barkley go, as if he was going to run for 2000 behind that trash Giants o-line and team last year?

The fact is, Barkley, Henry and Jacobs went to teams that were already good. The Eagles went to the wild card game in 2023, won the NFC in 2022 and had a productive run game already; The Ravens were favoured in the 2023 AFCCG and made the wild card round in 2022, and the Packers probably should have gone to the NFCCG game in 2023).

Terrible oline and injuries. I actually feel bad for Henry cause he should have got 2000 yards last season but they wanted to save him for the playoffs :camby: :camby: :camby: :camby: :camby:

Durability is highly underrated.

Total career NFL carries (regular season & playoffs):

Saquon = 1,750

Derrick = 2,641
.
.
.
.
.
Emmitt = 4,758

Both guys still have plenty left in the tank, but I think every RB has a pitch count.

Hopefully it’s not the case here, but I’m never surprised when RBs decline rapidly.

Henry is 31 and led the NFL in carries in 4 separate seasons. He also had almost 400 carries in his last year at Alabama. He has a lot of mileage.

There’s his high school stats too

Generally speaking, guys who have 400+ touches in a season are bound for regression/injury the year after those heavy workloads.
