They selfishly believed that their justification for doing demonic needs is better than anyone else. They get blinded with the power and quick money from doing so, and they become numb to taking away other people's loved ones.

There are sociopaths/pyshcopaths, clinically diagnosable people in every field, including organized crime, but more so it is about perspective, and the values/morals of the organization not aligning with the majority of societal conduct. Like, the military, you dress in a uniform, travel to other countries, attack, kill, destroy another nations citizens, and return home. Take it outside the context of the military, and it sounds insane. Same with killing someone who is a rival or who stole product or whatever. Outside of it's contextual place, it sounds abhorrent, but the people in it, are not all sociopaths, or lack remorse, they just view it differently.
