How did white folk convince black Americans to destroy themselves?

A plethora of ways but they ultimately destroyed our COLLECTIVE IMAGE as a people. They control the media, hence control our image.

They destroyed the "idea" of black people. Destroyed the "idea" of the black woman.
Destroyed the "idea" of the black man.

The black man's image has been reduced to drugdealers, street thugs, gangbangers, pimps and players.

The black woman's image has been reduced to oversexualized thot twerking whores.

This mainstream image of black people (which goes back to Minstrel Shows and continues today with rap music) has ultimately led to black people not valuing themselves and each other.

An entire music genre called "drill" , in which black people rap about destroying each other, has become one of the most popular genres in the world. Black death and destruction has become so normalized that black people themselves aren't appalled by drill music....in fact they love it and the rappers themselves are idolized by the black community.

This is a symptom of a sick people who find little to no value in themselves.

They destroyed us from within. This is spiritual and mental war we are in.

I like to think I know which way is up. Never sold crack or picked up a gun in anger. I always knew these things were paths to destruction.

No one could convince me to go against what I knew was right. And simply because I didn't want to suffer the consequences.

It would be possible to resist destructive ideas and I say that's the only fix.

The idea that white people will one day be fair and nice is a useless idea. So forget about THAT. Just figure out what to do IN SPITE of them trying to hold you back.

Religion plays a part in it because we got black people out here on some "turn the other cheek" shyt when they do harm to us. Integration plays a part in it because we was thriving as a community on our own before MLK sold us out. Colorism plays a part in it because some black people were taught that being light skinned was good and being dark skinned is bad. We was also taught that straight hair looks better on us and disregard natural curly hair as "nappy". It's a whole lot of shyt that plays into how we out here destroying ourselves.
