I don’t drink, but the way I’ve stopped bad eating habits was by not buying the food anymore. Can’t eat it if it’s not in the house. Can’t drink if it’s not in the house. And with drinking, even if you go out, if you’re smart you won’t drink that much because you could get a DUI so you sort of have to cut down on it, I would think.

Stop going out so much to spots where you usually drink - if that’s at family or friends spots, just take a short break from going there at drinking times to show yourself ain’t shyt but to do it. Find cool substitutes like working out, if you got an addictive personality, once you see the benefits of exercise, you’ll keep going.

I don't really see a need to quit completely, I'm personally not an alcoholic. A couple beers on the weekend doesn't hurt.

But once I started eating edibles regularly I had way less desire to drink :yeshrug: a lot of the times I'll just eat a gummy rather than open a beer

I read somewhere that High Fructose Corn Syrup and Alcohol have the same addictive properties and also have the same negative effects to your liver, pancreas, and gallbladder

Not the best advice, bit maybe find a sugar drink substitute as you ween off alcohol, if you don't wanna go cold turkey. Soda or Juice instead of alcohol should be step 1

I don't condone it at all but driving drunk or e even with a buzz is fun as hell. Now, it's awful because of all the lives at risk, even outside of injury or death.

shyt was fire tho when I was on my bullshyt. :banderas:

-Busy enough that I don't have time

-Saving money so I can't afford to spend on it or afford to waste money on the thoughtless dumb shyt I buy when intoxicated

-Stopped hanging around people that have nothing better to do with their time

-Im in the greatest shape of my life now and I can't afford the calories. It hurts my performance in the gym as well

-i began looking at it as a fun toxin (which it is) that poisons a body that I work very hard to maintain

I've grown out of it. I began viewing myself through a different lens and I don't do the same things I used to do. The old me that spent more weekends drunk than sober isn't me anymore. Once I looked at myself differently it became easier. I'll still have a drink or 2 occasionally. But it's not my "thing"

Realizing “why” you were drinking and making goals to work with that reasoning.

Also, breaking habits and creating alternatives.

I still drink but only if out with co-workers, and not to get sloppy drunk either.. since I’m usually solo and driving.

And the consequences outweigh the temporary fun/bliss you get from being drunk

As @O.T.I.S. said, look at why you drink. For me, I generally like who I am when I drink. I think; or at least I'm not aware; but I tend to be a funner person to be around. I overthink, can be timid or appear unapproachable a lot of times, because I'm so in my head all the time. Like ALL OF THE TIME.

I've stopped successfully several times, but it usually involved me getting too drunk and some goofy event surrounded that drunkenness. I can do it again and I'm getting close to dumping it altogether, but I have a different personal motivation this time I'm trying to rationalize.
