If you're sure your resume is on point and you're still not getting calls, the other thing I'd suggest is to think about relocating.

You could just be in an area where there aren't many jobs in your field.
Also consider making that switch over to 6 series 6 certs. I know it's jokes on here but I know plenty of nikkas in OP situation (w/o the masters just a reg bachelors). They could only get security jobs. They studied or took classes for a few months and got jobs paying $60k+ shortly after that.

You need to fix up your resume if you aren't getting replies - first thing you need to do

Linkedin, Use your school website job posting

Attach github projects you've worked on

The hardest part is getting through that first door especially the first year experience. When I was applying to work for the first time (second semester of school) in tech field. I probably sent out 150 resumes, made several changes to my resume, sharpened my tools, once you get an opportunity - work at it hard and next time look for work before you leave your other job. Secret I learned while working throughout my years in school and grad is never take your foot off the gas once you start. shyt is a grind especially if you do not have any connects

Get some certs, you can learn A+ in a week or 2, take the exam and you'll have a job opening tomorrow.

I'm literally depressed off the strength that I can't find a job. I've applied all over the place and have been declined at even the lightest jobs due to "over qualification" (Masters degree in Information Science) or lack of experience knowing all the programs and shyt these places are looking for.

:mjcry: shyt shouldn't affect me so much but I've been starting to harbor some negative emotions towards life and I don't want to go to that dark place but damn, what's a good job a college grad can get that pays relatively decent? My last job was $30K but the toxic stress I accumulated and racism I experienced at the job wasn't worth it. shyt, I would've stayed if it wasn't for all that. Just not feeling like myself breh. Gotta get this money somehow :sadcam:

Stop.

Breathe.

Your time will come.

I'm guessing you're early-20's.

Don't worry about it, breh. This is how this is supposed to be. This is how this works.

Keep pushing yourself.

Keep making contacts.

Keep doing all the shyt that the successful people who came before you are telling you to do.

Learn some shyt. Make yourself experienced in a few technologies.

Your time will come.

In the meantime, make yourself as marketable and as skillful as possible.

Make as many contacts as you can.

Do not be afraid to take risks!

Your 20's is the soil.
Your 30's is the stem.
Your 40's is the fruit.

Your.
Time.
Will.
Come.

Source: I graduated in 2003 with the worst possible GPA, no job prospects, no contacts and am a millionaire now at age 39.

Your time will come.

What did you do? If you don't mind my asking.

I basically got lucky.

Started my career as an underpaid breh working for a small company who used an outdated piece of software.

Then a big company called me because some of their systems ran on that old software.

My salary tripled overnight and it snowballed from there.

And I worked the shyt out of it.

I got lucky.

But the premise is the same. You're in your 20's (I assume).

Keep grinding. Your time will come, I promise.

Well, shyt. That's how it goes sometimes though I guess.

Damn breh. What city are you in and what jobs are you looking for/want?

Can't say the place, too small of a town. I'm basically looking to land in something tech-related that doesn't require me to be a super tech guru. Only just recently decided to go this route. I'm down for anything tech and business related too, like business/systems analysts or something.
