from the net like like i first heard about the term multi-syllable rhymes on a message board and then i looked it up on the net and the rest is history.

I'm Jamaican so I learned dancehall flows first so rap slows were easy. Plus I always win writing contests for poetry growing up

my homies used to make lil freestyles n shxt after school and after hearin it, i was like "d@mn this kinda dope" and i told one of my dawgs that rapped, "I bet u i can write a better verse than u", we sat at my momma kitchen table, and my first verse was wack af, talkin bout drug dealin, killin, candy painted impalas etc. then i practiced a lil bit and went over to my dawg house and it was like 5 of us freestylin on a dip set beat and my verse was pretty ok. from then i just kept sharpening my skills and tryin out different flows n shxt.
If you've never done it before, here's a suggestion. This is what I did as a kid.
Just to start: Take a verse you think is dope and write it out in structured form while listening to it. Try to pick something kind of simple. Recite it and make marks on paper to indicate the delivery and little nuances in it. You'll pick up how the rapper went about writing it and go,
Then, write your own. You can write 4 random bars at a time and then jigsaw the best 4 together. Tap on the table to feign a metronome so you don't Silkk Tha Shocker it up.

yeah go to any lyrics go to your favorite rappers lyrics and circle all the rhyming syllables so u can see how he rhymes and for bar measures go listen to any song and see how flows.
