I do 12 hour nights. I get lots of sleep but it feels like it’s all I do now. My employer is a dumb azz that keeps filling with my schedule as well so it’s like one day on, one day off, 2 days on, one day off... ect.. it’s just too sporadic to build any routine or normalcy.

Also how do you date or meet new bishes? I can’t go for the coworkers and my 2 I got now won’t last much longer.

The money good but the ish so wack. Ion even be knowin what day it is half the time. I live like an animal now.

Lemme hear y’all night shift tales

I've done night shifts most of my life.

When i did 12 hour night shifts, with 12 hour shifts there isn't much you can do on work days except sleep and eat. You gotta figure you get 12 hours off to yourself so that's an hour to get ready for work, showered, shave, etc. and then time to drive to work, so that's almost 2 hours gone from your 12 depending on the drive. Then the drive back home/stop at a store, that's about another hour+ gone, so 3 hours gone from your 12, then another hour to wind down/eat/shower/etc. So now you at 4 hours gone and you have 8 hours free before work time.

IDK about you but i need at least 6-8 yo function. So that is almost all your time accounted for on 12 hour shift work days. With 12 hour shifts you really gotta get the most out of your off days that you can, that's really your only choice.

However on 8 hour night shifts its much easier, i used to do 11-7 shifts and i would just sleep soon as i got home about 8am. So i'd sleep from like 8-2 and then you got plenty of time to do whatever you need to do before work at 11. Those are the best overnight hours i find, either 10-6 or 11-7.

Yeah, 11-7 is the shyt. In the military, work at that time is cake because no one is doing shyt. All the higher ups are out for the night and it's usually like 5 people working per command.

That said, I got moved to Nights, which is 4-11:30. shyt is trash unless you're a night owl.
