From the late 80's till 01 it was free if you subscribed to sky sports in the UK on your TV package. After that the Big 4 became PPV and then sometime in the mid to late 00's all the PPV's you had to order.

One of my older cousins who I was very cool with was friends with a guy that worked for a cable company so he got the "hook-up" to some free illegal cable and ppv streams. He was a massive sports fan so he taped all of the boxing and wrestling ppvs and dropped off the vhs tapes to me and my family later in the week. :eat:

never understood how those worked :wtf:
I love these topics where I can talk about this type of stuff

One of the guys who worked on the encryption for DTV and Dish’s access cards leaked the info and stuff out and the hackers ran with it. It took a lot of money, DTV frying hacker cards (google DirecTV Black Sunday), and numerous card swaps.

Dish ran these on a channel only Pirates could see:

The new cards talked about in here were hacked in the middle of the card swap :laff:

Sometime after this one they got some type of control over it. From what I read on Reddit, DTV and I believe Dish use rolling card codes now, so it wouldn’t be worth it to pirate anymore

The boldness of Dish Network calling people Satellite Pirates :laff:

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
Cousins had the hot box. My mom n dad refused so i only got one or two ppvs a year.

Still remember watching wm 18 rock vs higan like it was radio thru the scrambled channel. Could still hear it and hearing the crowd had me hyped i was jumping out my seat hoping hogan would win. The crowd was the loudest i ever heard and honestly that was prolly best way to hear it.
