For punk to be such a face, there is no reason why bryan should be getting his name chanted like he does.

Crowds was about 60% punk and 40% bryan yesterday. Thats a problem breh. The crowd should not be that evenly split when one of the biggest faces of your company is involved.

Yeah, cena gets booed but its not in support of the other guy, its out of spite and hate.

And it wouldn't be a 60/40 split in favor of the face like it was, it would be like 70/30 in favor of BRYAN, or worse, depending on the venue.

That's obviously a much bigger "problem" than the one present in the Punk/Bryan feud.

My problem is that heels are much more enjoyable than faces, which shouldn't be the case. We used to have faces that were bad asses from Biker Taker, to Stone Cold or whoever. I remember hating HHH's guts back in the early 2000's because of his character. People LOVED to hate that muhfukka.

now these faces are so fukkin clownish and vanilla that the audience ain't really connecting with these dudes the way they're supposed to.

a couple cheers here and there is understandable, but yesterdays crowd was damn near split down the middle with the edge going to Punk. How the fukk is your biggest face...your FACE WORLD CHAMPION...getting split reactions with a fukkin heel? Not even the top heel at that.

As for specifically this feud, Bryan is prob the most cheered heel in the E, Punk is probably the most-cheered face at this point. Plus a lot of the people that would cheer one are also gonna support the other since they're similar in a lot of ways. You're not gonna have that same kind of split if Punk's up against most any other heel.

Again, I was confused at you bringing up Cena because he's the poster boy for the problem you're writing about.

Exactly. Every story of good and evil ever in the history of time has the bad guy running shyt for a long ass time and then someone steps up and overcomes the odds. That's the ending. A face should only really have a world title for a couple months at most.

Eh. For most of their history, the WWF/E has always been a promotion were the face is the champ taking on different heels. The 98'-05' Era was the exception, not the rule.

I don't think the problem is faces being too clean as it is heels not being true heels anymore. Somebody like Dolph Ziggler is so ridiculous, tacky, outrageous in his mannerisms and appearance that people are more likely to cheer him or not really hate him. The only people who feel passionate about Ziggler are internet smarks who love him, that's not the sign of a great heel.

Lesnar (08-10 in MMA) and Mayweather drew ridiculous numbers and had at least 50% of the audience hating them because they were believable and heelish in a relatable way to people's normal lives.
