i didnt complain about it not being real--- im saying that the more talking than fukking wrestling makes it beyond corny

when it was the hottest thing going from around 97-2001 (when Stone Cold and The Rock were on top) there was just as much talking going on every week....

it was just good talking back then though :to:

Its a fair question I think though, I mean I use to to REALLY be in wrestling as child. I had a Hulkamania weight set and everything

But once I found out it was fake, it was pretty much over.

I tried to fight through it but knowing that the outcomes are all pre-determined, all the storylines are made up, the blood wasn't real and neither were those chairs. The refs always having their backs turned or being distracted while the tag team partner is doing something illegal. It just got to be too much.

Whenever I see someone throw a guy towards to ropes and he bounces off of them and comes running back full speed I just :scusthov:

I stopped watching around the time that WWF transitioned into the WWE. So I was able to witness the greatness of Young Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake, Ric Flair, Ted Dibase, etc...

But I couldn't imagine, watching or following it as an adult...

But hey, different strokes for different folks, I could say the same for people who are really into Superheroes and Comic Books as an adult too so...

:whoa: I don't want no beef with the TSC tho, just throwing my 2 cents in

I don't really watch anymore I will occasionally turn and watch a few minutes of wrestling now a days. I was a big fan back in the day when I was younger during the Hulk Hogan days and watched during the Rock and Stone Cold days. I will say I am embarrassed to say I watch it at times.

the "fake" element of wrestling allows for larger then life personalities. And control over certain elements that might taint that personality through legitment wins and losses.

Think about it this way imagine if Floyd Maywether was as cocky as he is now but lacked the talent (i.e getting knocked out consistently). He would lose what many fans love/hate about him and be a mere laughing stock to the sport and fans. Wrestling would find ways to "protect" Floyd's character and find ways to minimize the hit his credibility would take from a single or multiple losses (i.e. having people interfere in his matches to help him win). The keep that element that makes fan love or hate him.

The Rock became popular because of his funny catchphrases and humor. The WWE was able to create and harvest a crossover star by allowing the Rock to be one of there "best wrestlers" or main star. If this happened to be a legit wrestling or MMA style fighting and the Rock couldn't handle himself in the ring he wouldn't be where he is today. I wish I could convey it better then I have. That's the best I can do.

Response to the bolded....

The blood is real it's called blading which the WWE doesn't do anymore.
Blading (professional wrestling) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In professional wrestling, blading is the practice of intentionally cutting oneself to provoke bleeding.[1] It is also known as juicing, gigging, or getting color.[1] Similarly, a blade is an object used for blading, and a bladejob is a specific act of blading. The blood in pro wrestling is almost never, as often suspected, theatrical makeup, but actual blood, and the scars borne by longtime pro wrestlers are real ones.[2] The act is usually done a good length into the match as the blood will mix with the flowing sweat to make the wound look like much more blood is flowing from it than there actually is

Chair-shots.. I can't find the article but the chairs are real also. it's something about the way the hit others with it the minimizes the impact.

It's fake but the injuries can be real. And it happens a lot.

I understand exactly what you are saying here and I agree. That is what gives them a one up on Boxing and MMA. Because you can take a young up and coming Boxer or UFC fighter with skills, personality and flair who has the potential to be the biggest star and all it would take is to back to back losses and he just becomes another fighter. But in Wrestling they could make that same star bigger than life and ride out his buzz until they see the need for the next new thing.

So with all things considered I respect WWE for what they do as a business. Especially when you look at their product compared to the actually sport of wrestling (college & high school) which is pretty boring and not that entertaining to watch.

I've tried even this year to turn it on and watch it, but I guess I'm just too far gone to suspend reality and enjoy it anymore.
