That's why I'm saying make up volunteer experience say that you did gardening, babysitting, sports.

They won't call you out on stuff like that on your resume, I've lied dozens of times and get interviews

Yeah we did CV's at my school. It's not that different you just go into a lot more detail. The basic things in a CV are a profile on yourself and your goals, qualifications, skills and experience and hobbies.

A good idea would be to volunteer somewhere in the meantime, that way you can put it on your resume and eventually get someone to recommend you. The Red Cross for instance has easy volunteer jobs where you just man the desk and check people in, give them snacks, etc.

my first job was at a grocery store. I applied in person. but this was back in like 95 before the internet was poppin like that to get jobs.

They usually have the list of positions hiring at the front of the store like by the customer service desk. Talk to them and they'll probably have you apply there

Apply online or go to the store and ask for an application. If they ask you to do an interview, wear dress clothes - if you have a suit, wear it. You'll need to be ready for their questions, which will basically be "why should we hire you/what are your strengths/what are your weaknesses/etc"

I done hiring and as long as the person is dressed decent, we picked on who the best overall candidate

what does "dress nice" mean? In my experience it's at least dockers, white dress shirt, and a tie.
