chicks like that are very image concious. Even if it looks like they just threw something on, they spend hours looking at fashion blogs to get ideas on how to look unique.
In my experience they are more impressed with a guys swag then his job or car. This is because their parents usually have money so they dont put as much value on it as poor people do. If you play music or do art, use that to you're advantage, thats probably the easiest way to get you're foot in the door.
Other then that these chicks are just like everyone else. That whole "artsy" thing is just an image. Since breaking into the art world, more and more of the girls I meet fall into this category.

90% of those chicks are WORTHLESS! They do things that cost tons of money yet yield little value like wait tables in big cities and go to art school. They often maintain needlessly complicated and expensive diets, they're often in sh!t shape (hence the layering) and they have an extremely low tolerance for anything that conflicts with their smug, self interested world view. It gets to be loathsome really fast.
yeah i been out there...not enough "ethnic" hipsters in BK from what i saw....the Whole Foods clique just took over. but then again i wasn't really there long...i saw some looks on Ludlow though
