I havent had a low haircut since I was a kid. I know I need a durag or a wavecap and maybe some grease, but what kind. Do I absolutely need grease? Im sort of opposed to it, could I just use olive oil? Where can I find a wave brush without pig bristles (muslim). Will this require me to be one of those brushing his head all the time built nikkas? If I let my hair grow, it will wave up a lil naturally but not in the back and just a lil on the sides.

this dude has to be a cac, no way you black asking such things

so this is the order pomade/water, brush, durag? if I go against the grain will I have to star over? like can i scratch my head freely?
Yeah you can scratch.

Personally I think palmade does help. When I was younger I used to OD on the palmade and the brush like crazy for an hour. This helped to get my waves started. Probobly not healthy for your hair..

Nowadays since my shyt is trained u just use palmade to accentuate the waves I already have.

My othe technique was to put my head under the shower and just brush. For a long time. The hard part is training. Once your hair is used to waving. It's hard not to have waves.

You need the boar bristles, its almost 100% necessary unless you've got the natural good good. It's not like you're eating a pig its a damn brush that trains your hair. If you brush every evening and use some Lusters pink, you'll start to see some results. It helps if you grow it out while brushing, get a cut (with the grain) then just stay on the brushing routine once a day. You don't even have to sit there for a long time.

PurposeThis hair slick is perfect for creating the "wet" look. Use for parting, lifting and styling hard to manage hair. Provides shine and control for all day hold. Great for waves, curls, bobbed and straight hairstyles.

Method
Rub Murray’s Nu Nile Dressing Pomade into hands to soften, rub thoroughly into hair, comb or brush into any style desired.

For waves, apply at night after dampening hair with warm towel and use a stocking cap to hold hair in place.
For spiking start with product at the base of the hair shaft and work toward the hair ends.

Dont use pomade use something light like olive/carrot cream and you dont need to use it daily either (atleast in my case I didnt) once/twice a week. Get a good brush and brush brush bush. Shower brushing is good too but use a soft brush. Wolfing will also work wonders for your pattern, I used to do 6-8 week wolfing sessions and try to keep a doo rag on at night when sleep. Again, dont mess with them pomades a light oil will do just fine & wash your hair once a week. Depending on the grade of your hair you should start seeing a pattern form rather fast using this method. This thread got me wanting to get my waves going again.
