Once you got your methods/muscle memory down, you start drinking/smoking on your breaks

We used to be killing the game back in the day and was cross faded the whole time

Some do kill themselves. Or go into a burnout, boreout, depression, some sort of apathy, drugs, alcoholism, etc.

The lucky ones manage to "switch off" when they're at work and/or do the bare minimum while waiting for the rest of the day to finally start because they have something else (family, hobbies, etc) that makes it worth to go through the day.

Some people just want to go in, not have to think a lot, get paid and go home. Not everyone wants to move up the corporate chain or have a stressful gig. There are plenty of people who are comfortable with doing the bare minimum for a check :yeshrug: .
Exactly… op is stupid cause there are people with 6/7 figure non-monotonous jobs who kill themselves every year (finance, accounting, attorneys etc…)

I was depressed as hell when I was a dishwasher for two months, never again.

I need a job that is a balance if blue collar and white collar

My general rule in regards to this is:

The day you look at a clock twice on the job and can't believe how slow time has actually moved, it's the beginning of the end for your time there.

Time flies as you're having fun. It also flies when you're happy. Time drags with the opposite.

Make of that what you will.

This is why I can only do fast paced, high stress jobs. I couldn't withstand the slow, do nothing jobs that make the time drag. I'd rather work in high paced environments that make the day go by faster.
This. My job is very fast paced and stressful but the days, weeks and months just flow by. Nice to have a job where you’re not constantly checking the clock waiting for 5pm

Imagine working 8-5pm Monday to Friday and your job is just one thing. I’m watching a documentary on iPhone production in Taiwan and a lot of the workers do just one job; they add certain items to the iPhone like a screw or whether and give it to the next person to add their bit. That’s basically their job all day. Imagine doing that shyt day in and day out :scust:

I’ve had jobs before in the past where the work was like this. One was basically folding flat thick papers into envelopes everyday and I swear I was contemplating suicide. I quit after just ten days :mjlol:

This is a 1st world concern

Alot of those workers in Taiwan came from VERY poor families and working that job in a factory is seen as a way to get out of their living situation, and alot are grateful for it
