your savings money and your allowance money is more than what some people get. You don't understand poverty? Did you grow up well off?we all gotta pay those things. but I dont understand how folks can be actin all suprised when these normal fixed expensed pop up, when it's shyt they KNOW they gotta pay regardless.
me for example, I take $300 out of EVERY paycheck I have and send it to my credit union. I don't even see that money. I haven't for years. I used to do it when I was paying a car note, I'd send the money, but after paying the car off a few years ago, I kept doing it, and as I made more money, I upped the amount I was sending over. that's an easy $7500 saved annually just by living my normal life. and that's not even factoring in me saving the excess money out of my paycheck after bills are paid.
the way I do it, is I send $300 to the credit union. I give myself $250 allowance to my other checking account as well that's deducted from my paycheck, out of that allowance I used to pay for groceries and fuel primarily. and whatever other small things I need to buy. then take the remainder of my check and pay all my bills. and anything left over, I save.
so worst come to worst, I'm saving $300 every two weeks, but that NEVER happens, cuz my expenses NEVER exceed my income.
I'm the same fukking way dude..but its a simple matter of responsibility and spending habits. WSJ posted an article with a troubling finding showing that our generation is at a saving deficit...between loans for school, irresponsible spending habits and not even considering the future, people are out here worrying about today as opposed to tomorrow.I know there are poor people, but I'm specifically referring to cats who are able bodied and have decent jobs. If you got a decent gig, how in the hell do you allow yourself to be in a position where you can tell someone "I'm broke"?
Now for me, if I say "I'm broke", that means that I don't have any discretionary income that I want to spend. That doesn't mean that I have ZERO dollars. I ALWAYS have money saved for emergencies or whatever else. but I have heard plenty of otha nikkas/women claim that they have no money til they get paid for instance. how do you allow yourself to live so hand to mouth? how can you be comfortable NOT having jack shyt in case some shyt goes down?? totally irresponsible.
for instance, if I had 50K saved up, and I spent all my "allowance" that I allow myself every two weeks, then to me, I'm broke. what about ya'll?
This is my only issue I'm dealing with. I'm a really good cook but its too time consuming.I overspend on eating out.
A bag of tilapia cost the same as one or two meals at a restaurant I might hit up frequently.![]()
I know dude lives downtown and not far from the white house (which is suprisingly small in real life).
he doesn't really need public transportation to get to work, so he could save a lot of money considering he has a whip and is paying for a parking spot.
personally, I'd NEVER live in a place where parking isn't included. and by parking, I mean a full garage for my whip.
When I 1st moved here, I stayed in different parts of MD. Comin' from NY with no wheels, I always lived by the train. They charge by the distance, so my commute was expensive. And rents go up as you get closer to the train. But a lot of people don't live in the city, it's expensive as hell, the 500 you save in gas/insurance/car payment you'll be spending for housing, you're not coming up. You actually have to live and work in DC to contemplate not needing a car
But how thoughThis is my only issue I'm dealing with. I'm a really good cook but its too time consuming.
Save me @trilldealbaby :totheeastside:
