Some folks value body appearance and health. Some men want to be muscular, look appealing to women shirtless or in a wifebeater, and to be healthy. Some women believe it or not care about their health and weight maintenance. Women especially black and Hispanic have higher rates of obesity and even tho obese and overweight women can pull....a woman keeping her body proportionate, tight and in tact will give her an competitive advantage. Plus women want to look good to men in their two piece swimwear and the tight clothing they were.

Some folks also fear getting fat so they put in time. Also gym can be used as an outlet to receive stress.

I find no issue for those who go regularly and spend over an hour.

I'm in the gym for about 60-90 min depending on what I'm doing, it makes me feel good even though I'm only 6'1 170 lbs

If you add 20 mins warm up and 20 mins cooldown that can get up to roughly 2 hours.

When I had a partner, my sessions went from 1 hour to 2 hour, doubled in time & that was without cardio, I do that seperate

most people like that don't have anything better to do.

I'll spend 45 minutes to an hour. Anything more and I'm bored

Fighting diabetes and obesity. Building muscle to armor myself and look better. Experiencing endorphin highs, etc

My routine now takes a while because its strength based so I have to take longer breaks between sets to do it safely. On a good day I can finish up in an hour 15. Luckily I have a home gym so I can do whatever whenever.

The thought process isn't "I'm gonna go and spend a lot of time at the gym". You SHOULD go in with a plan, sometimes it takes a while if it's high volume. Now if you just go in and dikk around then stay the fukk home and choose an actual program to follow before you go to the gym

I can get my weights done in about 45 minutes. I spend longer on the weekend cause I don't have to rush back to work, but most of that extra time is spent trying something new or pushing for a one rep max of something.
