I should have worded the thread as out of shape instead of overweight

A motivated, sleeker Carmelo Anthony said Tuesday that he had lost 12 pounds since the end of the Knicks' season.

Anthony, who was in Manhattan for the unveiling of his wax likeness at Madame Tussaud's, told reporters he was down to 239 pounds.

"I'm exceeding expectations," said Anthony, who has been training in Los Angeles.

Anthony's conditioning has been a concern throughout his career. Coach Mike Woodson, who asked Anthony to lose weight this off-season, recently visited him in Los Angeles to see the results.

"They were kind of shocked to see me down in weight," Anthony said, referring to Woodson and other team officials. "They came to my workout, saw it. They're actually excited how much hard work I've put in since the season ended."

Anthony also told reporters that he has added motivation after seeing his close friends LeBron James and Dwyane Wade win the championship in Miami. The Heat eliminated the Knicks in five games in the first round.

Anthony, James and Wade will be teammates on the Olympic team, which begins training in Las Vegas next week.

"I believe my time is coming," Anthony said, adding: "Whether this year or next year, I truly believe our time is coming. We're going to keep playing for that."

How can you be millionaire and stills at mcdonalds. Never mind the fact he said cp3 eats it daily. I'mjussayin, at least upgrade chik-filet. I could eat chipotles everyday but Mickey d's.

Chipotle you could eat healthy with.. rice and veggies and protein... hold the sauces and you got yourself a decent meal

At the end of the day, these nikkas must be eating 3 or 4 times what they need to eat...

If you ride the bench like Diaw, you're not burning those kind of calories.

If you're in your 20s, and out of shape, there aint no excuse for that in the league. But you see a 100X, when players get old, and just let themselves go after their metabolism slows down. If you have good genes, like David Robinson did all the way until retirement, they still look like body buildrs in their late 30s.

I always wondered this as well, running up and down the court 82 times a year, plus practice and going to the gym, getting sweaty while doing so, you would think that would keep these dudes in tip hop shape.

Amazing that these dudes have access to be the best fitness trainers in the world and yet choose to be :flabbynsick:.

Some of us would love to have access to the resources to be fitness greatness :ohlawd:

You are running up and down the court with some of the fastest people in the world burning like 5000 calories a game. How much food do these nikkas eat? :dwillhuh:

You're not burning that much. Think about how much time you're spending standing waiting for calls, free throws etc. Some guys run more than others, but you're only burning 3-600 calories depending on how many minutes you play. See some of those dudes probably thought like you did and ate a lot more thinking "oh I'll burn it off" and they gain weight.
