How do y'all expect a mass migration to Africa to actually happen?

:mjlol: Right on time. You aren't gonna school us on the history of Liberia? :ohhh:
We're all aware of the history of Liberia

Just because something failed once doesn't mean we should give up. That logic doesn't apply to any other aspect of life.

Jews were kicked out of 109 countries before settling in a homeland. Obviously, their circumstances were different but the general gist is the same

It's not happening.
Look at Liberia.

People "might" leave. But, once they don't have Internet, TV, reliable cell phone coverage, electricity, food and clean water, they are going to dip out.

yea thats why we gotta create the infrastructure ourselves... and for that we need a economy...

we gotta get outta this cycle of praying for our enemies to take care of us... stop living like the civil rights generation...

marcus garvey flat out said there was no back to africa movement...

he was gettin some productive black folks to back to africa and rebuild the communities and civilizations...

but this idea of the mass population going back to africa with no goals is insane...

It couldn't be on the scale of the current Syrian crisis (all at once) and it doesn't just have to be the continent. Time, cooperation, and hard work...maybe!

How'd it work tho? :ohhh:

In the US the FBI sabotaged it. They destroyed 3 ships on the black star line. In the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa, colonial powers sabotaged anything he did regarding uniting the diaspora. Garvey (and anyone affiliated with the UNIA) were banned from multiple countries in Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe.

I keep telling myself I need to make a Garvey thread because I don't think most of you all understand what Garvey was able to accomplish. When he was buying ships for the black star line, people thought it was only about commerce, but Garvey's plans were way bigger. He said in 30 years while WEB Du Bois and the rest of the black leadership in America will be begging Congress to treat black people better, Garvey said he's going to come with a fleet of Navy ships and park it in the NY harbor. He said when he shows up, he's not going to be beg anyone shyt. It's why literally every government on the planet was after him.

Cosign. Garvey never supported or mentioned the idea of a back to Africa movement. He even said if you are useless in America, you'll be useless in Africa. It's why when he sent his delegation to Africa he sent engineers, scientists, and farmers.

That's one of the reasons I'm going back. I feel that I can help to keep African resources in the hands of Africans and hopefully build something there that will benefit Africans at home and abroad.

There is not a single example in the world today of two groups who hate each other living side by side peacefully for an extended period of time in a context where neither group is submissive or willing to back down

We've been here around 500 years but have been mostly submissive to whites for the first 470 of those years

30 years is nothing but a blink in the eye relative to long term history

I completely understand how someone indigenous to the continent, with their own culture and heritage could be upset and frustrated by African American ignorance towards the continent and it's variety of people. I just think that it's not going to close the gap or promote an understanding by simply fighting fire with fire. Cacs have already forcibly taken us, from what would have been OUR countries, OUR legacies, OUR heritage and brainwashed us into the ridiculous thinking that we are better off living under the foot of our oppressors. We have been suffering, collectively from the WORSE case of Stockholm Syndrome in recorded history. African Amerians and Africans alike, despite cultural differences need to REALLY attempt a form of mutual respect.

dude.... you got OPs talking about internet and infrastructure as If these things dont exist there.....

most of the dudes in the thread sound EXACTLY like the ignorant CACs they despise.....

like I said you are not reading articles of Americans being attacked or whatever in Africa, and believe me there are plenty out there but the ignorant dudes in here who dont even probably own a passport feel qualified to make that assertion based on their own ignorance
