How do y'all feel about the whole Demon King debut?

I get that they wanted to introduce his demon side during this big debut he is having, but they should have made a big deal about why he turns into Demon King. Like he gets pushed into that place easy and have Seth do things to bring that side it. What they did was just "Oh, btw sometimes Finn puts on makeup. Let's show these cool promo videos, and have him do the special entrance, BUT NOT EXPLAIN WHY HE'S CHOSEN TO TRANSFORM AT THIS TIME." I mean if they are trying to convey that he does this for big matches to help him win, why shouldn't he just stay as Demon King all the time and never lose?

Make that gimmick something Finn doesn't want to turn into, even though it helps him. Make storylines around heels pushing his buttons and forcing him to be it when he doesn't want to. Have the heels pay for prodding it out of him. It's simple.

they could still go that route down the line - have him win as demon here and there and start using it more ; frequency causes an identity split which leads him to try to suppress it, leading to what you suggested

there is a couple of ways they could go with balor as a character ... he still has a built in heel turn with the reformation of the balor club as well as a built in heel turn with him eventually "embracing the demon" after going thru the arc of suppressing it

You bring up a good point, at the height of Jeff Hardy's popularity, he couldn't cut a promo for his life (other than the one addressing Taker) but he was popular as hell because of facepaint among other things

Being likeable is a transcendent quality, Jeff never hid from his issues which made him relatable. Being likeable can take you places skill alone sometimes can't.

Finn is a known nerd, being a nerd is one of the most marketable things you can be in 2016

Maybe I'm getting old and out of touch, but I don't see the big deal about Finn Balor. He comes across as corny, and I don't think he's really that unique in the ring. The whole Demon thing doesn't appeal to me, but I'm not the market that it should be appealing to so whatever.

I prefer Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to him. They should be in his spot. They're gonna push this guy down everyone's throats, and it'll eventually lead to a backlash.

Kane gets a lot of crap from people, but he did some crazy sh_t with his gimmick which allowed him to be scary and intimidating. His size helped as well. This gimmick only works if Finn Balor can do some crazy sh_t.

The shyt made me laugh, but i was thinking to myself theres some grown ass man right now online hating, talking about Bullet Club heel turns and ring work, but fukk all that this shyt for the kids.

They're pushing this match all wrong. Balor and Rollins are legitimately 2 of the best wrestlers in the world right now. The buildup should be focused on how great each of them are and how great the match will be for the world of wrestling. This would bring more legitimacy to the Universal Title. This match doesn't need gimmicks. Just the pure raw talent that is already there.
