How do y'all feel about this mother beating her "son" for taking part in the riots?

My my my… How soon we forget.

I seriously have to ask if its progress y'all really want if you believe her "losing" it is a valid solution. No wonder we are out here losing.

Hell is it bad that I wanted to help her?! Lol! The only thing missin was a blk daddy wit a belt!

The last thing we need is ignorance in our protests.

This generation isn't taking these matters to heart. They are using real blk issues in our community as an excuse to act a damn fool.

Not to mention as a teacher I've seen a disturbing trend with young children where they have no respect for authority. I've seen 6th graders jump on school resource officers and teachers. Parents and adults are trying to be these kids "friends" instead of their parents.

Discipline ur children, teach them to respect authority, b/c if u don't someone else will...

I seen her interview on CNN and she admitted she lost it,
All that needs to be said. The rest of that is irrelevant. Even she admitted that she was wrong so yall cats can take the cape off acting like she wasn't wrong. fukk all that "bu bu she was just scared" bullshyt. She was wrong, and she if she acknowledged and actually did some good parenting after the fact then thay would be good, but I don't even by the "I lost it" shyt. That was some over the top grandstanding shyt. Dude was running away, she was literally chasing him knowing a crowd was watching. Ima let yall have it tho.

Blacks have peacefully protested for over half a century, why haven't things changed?
I seen her interview on CNN and she admitted she lost it,said she was not there to be recorded and just wanted to get her son who she told not to go out there in the first place:manny:....she got caught up in the moment same way he did....the boy himself said she took em home and explained she only did it because she cared even though he was embarrassed at first...maybe she stopped him from doing something he might regret depending on how that brick landed....and judging from they interview she knows him better than people in this thread, and he knows her.

Im not gon hold her responsible for people recording her:dahell:....Maybe they wouldnt have to do these interviews if people wasnt recording and passing judgement on both of them, based on something that really is between the two of them..

isnt being spun into sumthing else by some media outlets and cacs?sure but yall act like wont do that regardless, him throwing a brick on film wouldnt have stopped the spinnage....plenty of folks left to throw bricks thats really about that life.
I watched the interview as well. She had no control over who was taping her, so how some can claim she was showboating for the cameras is beyond me. She had told her son to go home after school because she knew the atmosphere would be tense. She admitted she went overboard and he admitted he shouldn't have been there.
By the way, a news reported indicated that 35 juveniles were arrested for looting, robbery, vandalism, etc last night. The parents weren't allowed to see them until this afternoon when they were led into court in shackles. Apparently many claim that they were innocent but we're swept up in the numbers of the guilty that were apprehended by police. In any case, many of these young men have no prior criminal history. The reporter stated she spoke with one young man and his father who recounted that his holding cell was so small he had to sleep on the floor.
Now these young men are in the criminal justice system.
This is what that mother was trying to keep her son out of.

I know people on the coli would like to think these protesters are militant machines, and media love to paint them as thugs by nature....But truth is alot of them are down there to just protest and sometimes emotions flare up,alot of times due to the police....I dont fault people throwing bricks or look at them as no damn animals....or do i go with the narrative more parents shouldve been down there beating on their kids like media and cacs are pushing to fit they narrative....your kids can go down there not intending to throw a brick but get caught up in emotion or may feel the need to defend themselves as men righteously and still get killed.

Bottomline is this particular kid was about to throw a brick on his emotion at the time, and mama came through to be his concioensce in the flesh bcuz she cared:mjcry:....He left the house against her wishes becuz he felt strongly he needed to be down there....But he didnt throw that brick because he didnt feel strongly about throwing that brick....If he did he wouldve threw it while his mama watched:damn:

Unfortunately some of those kids who got arrested probaly regret doing whatever they did and the fact they have records now, some wouldnt change a thing.

How can you be mad at this mama for saving her son from doing something he obviously wasnt prepared for at this point in his life....she was there to keep him from acting on his emotions...maybe her voice woulda kicked in in his head and he woulda never threw it....but his mama did a pull up since he disobeyed:manny:

this is between parent and child, but unfortunately it got recorded and people using it to push a narrative on both ends of the spectrum....Yeah i knkw why Oprahs ol peaceful azz is calling this woman, and why some c00ns and cacs are praising her,why police chief praised her as one of the good parents....but hows that her fault lol?If she start allowing herself to be used to condemn protesters by fox news and the such then yall have a point...So far ive seen her only speak for her and her son,and defend her son from being called a thug....they called em a thug and yall treatin em like a militant soldier in some army..

if he ever decide to throw a brick again he will be doing it righteously and because he's ready to face the consequences of killing a cop or getting killed....but that day she saved that boy from himself and from doing sumthing out of emotion he didnt fully think through.

To all the kids who thought it though and still threw the brick:salute:...For those who regret it,i still salute but they learned a valuable lesson...next time theyll think it through and theyll throw it again or they wont.

My Brother, many things things did change as a result of the protests in the 50's and 60's. As a result of lunch counter sit ins, freedom riders and marches, bus boycotts, voter registration drives, school children and adults that segregated schools and universities-we made great strides as a people in getting legislation on the books to end legalized discrimination, ensure voting rights, and improve housing and job opportunities.
Is everything perfect? Absolutely not. But we can't say that nothing has changed. I would say that we have not taken advantage of building on the successes we gained during the Civil Rights Era to really empower all of our people. We became obsessed with mainstreaming into American culture but we didn't shore up our own culture and promote black excellence.

You didn't say anything, my sister. Nothing has really changed. Whites have walked back or nullified any so called gains from the civil rights movement. Our schools and neighborhoods are still basically segregated while blacks still face legalized discrimination in every aspect of society. We can say that things haven't changed because we're facing the same problems that we had 50 years. All that "we've made got strides" shyt is white racist rhetoric. We can't afford to perpetuate that lie amongst ourselves because it only serves to keep the masses of black people asleep. That's the problem, too many blacks are walking around living in this fantasy world where things have gotten better. No things haven't gotten better. In fact in a lot of ways things are worse. Black unity is at an all time low while c00ning/selling out is at an all time high.
