Dudes really need to listen to Surf, these dudes even made Busta and BOB sound nice in 2015.

Chance the Rapper can be okay. Acid Rap got plenty replays, but after about 10 you realize how fukkin annoying this dude is. Besides the voice, his lyrics are vapid save a few songs (Acid Rain, Hey Ma, Pusha Man/Paranoid). On Acid Rap he has some good beat selection, definitely a nice cohesive project, but something about this dude just annoys the fukk out of me. He seems like one of those histrionic fakkits who never shuts the fukk up. His music is nice at times, but he ruins it with his fakkit ad-libs and screechy voice. His flow can be reminiscent of Em, which isn't a good thing imo. Surf was mostly trash.

He's buzzing though, a lot of chicas my age love him, due to his bubble gum fakkotry (Cocoa Butter Kisses).

i actually like his voice and ad libs. his beat selection is top notch and different, kinda like i dont see many people rhyming on them even though theyre dope. this dude kr tho his voice is annoying but i like his beat selection

he kinda owns his "not being cool" thing and just does himself. he's passionate about his artistry and makes forward thinking music. he has cultivated an aesthetic that works for him, makes conceptual music/art WELL and can turn a phrase like almost nobody else in rap today.

he's one of the best new school rappers out, not on some street shyt but on some linguistic shyt, he's smart af.

voice concerns are kinda hollow to me, very surface level

listen to no-testosterone having fakkits brehs

I listened to "10 Day" and "Acid Rap" and dude's voice is super annoying :mindblown:

Which trash rapper do you like?

Voice is very important be it good or bad. I don't think it should be the one thing to make you not listen to someone but because Hip Hop music is centred around the vocals then it's def up there in importance IMO. If Chuck D had a voice like Magoo then no one would take him seriously, if B Real had a normal voice on wax then Cypress Hill probably wouldn't really stand out as much as they did.

Voice is the most important aspect of a rapper, period.

I like the picture he paints of a heroin addict on "cold stares" it's really immersive

I like his verse/singing on "paranoia" which is one of the best songs about Chicago gun violence from a different perspective then we usually hear

I like "tap dance" for the extended metaphor of not just the dance/music/time signatures but two individuals being in sync with each other or maybe two parts of one person. never really figured it out

"Acid rain" is just phenomenal overall, the song really plays with your expectations on a line to line basis. I get bored with typical rap tropes as we all do. when he says "cause n***** still gettin bodied for foams" that resonated with me because it's so abrasive and such a departure from the rhyme scheme and the rest of the song. that's someone who has presence and command on the mic to take a risk like that.

and I was rockin to that arthur theme song remix he did cause I watched Arthur as a kid a little and they killed that shyt and got me all nostalgic at the same time

I just enjoy his music
