How do you all feel about Punch Drunk Love?

Just rewatched this for the first time in forever. Adam Sandler was fukking GREAT in the lead role, but I dunno, the movie felt kind of pointless to me and sort of ends abruptly? I don't really know how to feel about it.

I was thinking that maybe the point was that he finally managed to connect with someone and get rid of some of that bottled up anger, I don't know really, seemed like he was pretty chill in the last scene though.

Some of it totally cracked me up though, dude falling through the chair, Sandler running for his life before the goons catch up with him and just say ''The fukk are you going, we know where you live'', going ham in the bathroom etc. Have to watch this again soon.

When I first saw it I roughly had the same thoughts as you, except I thought it was funnier and generally off-beat. About a year later, after rewatching Lost Highway, I realized how wrong I was about PDL and how it's lean pacing and portrayal of a broken man looking for love was insanely relatable for me.

The scenes inside the casino are dope and are reminiscent of Casino and Sam Jackson arguably the best actor in it. You should check Bob the Gambler before it, tho. Paul said he homaged a lot from that film.
