Or you offer to pay for something and they’re like “ I can’t, this is too much “ even tho you insist and it’s not too much

Or you say you bout travel somewhere and they’re like “ You really wanna travel that far. Is everything alright?”

Basically I’m trying to figure out what personality type is this and what causes it.

Overtly critical. They second guess every move and decision you make. Some times its because they are extremely phobic and its inflated sense of caution.

However more often than not, especially If its a woman ( esepcially if it is a single mom) then they probably think theyre smarter/a better decision maker than you .

ya if all the quotes in the OP are from the same person then it low key sounds like some hating ass shyt…and it sounds like a woman…possibly a close relative which could also make it a form of “control” as some suggested

Ive got one myself: whats the term for someone who always tries to bullshyt their knowledge and expertise? Say for example if im talking about a computer engineering problem and they respond in a dead serious manner with "well why dont they just make a central mothership like device like how the internet works"

(for the initiated, this is complete gibberish. the equivalent of saying why shouldnt someone put a tailfin from a airplane on a car to stop it from leaking oil).


Ive heard of dunning kruger effect where someone doesnt know the depths of their own ignorance and assumes theyre an expert. This feels like that and more.
