are u sure with this statement?

.

there would be a drop off, but obviously nothing comparable to what would happen if you replaced the players with jobbers

the offensive coordinator for texas a&m wasn't even the head football coach at my high school 10 years ago......the guys he coached didn't think he was amazing :manny:

players are MUCH more important than coaches

i understand lettin them make outside money they should be able to but imagine nikkas would be hundred thousanaires in college
plus not every nikka that famous but trust every football/basketball player get taken care of

it would cause too much trouble imo but i do understand where nikkas comin from let em make money but y'all gotta think big imo

coaches make million and assistant coaches get 6 figure salaries. if theres gonna be issues regardless, let the people who actually generate the money get paid.

you can replace college coaches with high school coaches and not much would change. try replacing these top college athletes and see how watchable these games are

i feel you on the coaches getting too much

but damn near every nikka that i ever knew that went to ball from D3 all the way to D1 got some type of benefits or was taken care of on campus in some type of way

imagine in college football somebody playin for 3 years and being a 3-4 year star, he gone be rich before he even hitting the nfl

what about contract disputes and licensing if he get drafted? nikkas a be holding out in college lol they barely can handle practice and class

if anything most def loosen up on the penalties but naw they already on scholarships

let them nikkas get them 100 dollar handshakes n keep it movin

I dont see the big deal.

How does it hurt the school or ncaa if a college athlete makes money off of his/her name?

It would create a dramatically uneven field. Think, for example, if cats who got accepted to USC could now start partying and making money with the Hollywood elite. They'd be in movies, shows, etc. Kids would want to flock there even more than they do now. Having rules in place that are unilateral is in the best spirit of amateurism, not allowing teams to gain unique advantages.

Have you seen the new Oregon facilities? Schools like USC and the Florida schools with weather, tradition, and bytches to offer clearly have a unique advantage and will always have said advantage. Keeping kids from profiting off their image while the schools and NCAA as a whole rake in money hand over fist has absolutely nothing to do with amateurism or competitive balance. If you are gonna limit what kids can do, then everybody should be limited. No Johnny Football Jerseys or T-Shirts. No Networks. No TV deals. No multi-million dollar deals or endorsements for coaches. Let's keep this thing within the spirit amateurism. :youngsabo:

I agree with you. At the same time, the imbalance would be even worse if there were no rules set in place whatsoever. Oregon has a loophole with Mr. Knight providing all the goodies.

Picture this -- tomorrow Phil Knight has a press release and says "every Oregon football player will make $100,000 next season". :patrice:

Charles Barkley said something interesting today, saying let agents take care of them up to a certain amount. that way the players who deserve to be paid get paid. IDK but that could work cause agents aint signing the 4th string nikka and that 4th string nikka aint producing shyt :manny:

What's that gotta do with every college football player having the ability to go out and make money off of his own likeness/name? People always try to bring it back to paying the players when that isn't the issue here.

It's a disgrace

The system should register boosters and allow give to directly give $$ to players... Even make the numbers public... Would give us something to talk about

And players should all get paid by ea sports
