How do you feel about NFL teams asking draft prospects about their sexuality?

Its Dumb And Doesnt Makes Sense For One Reason...

Not One Guy Is Gonna Flat Out Tell You He's Gay, and You'd Be Stupid To Think They Would

If A Player Is Gay They're Either Openly Out With It Or Gonna Come Out When They Feel Like It, They Aint Gonna Spit Out Their Biggest Secret In A Job Interview That Will Put Their Career In Jeopardy

Muhfukkas Was Expecting An Honest Answer Huh?

thats real talk but i think they just asking is the question legitimate to ask a player rather he answer it one way or the other

you can ask whatever you want tho, its the owners business hes trying to run...its only a problem if theyre able to prove that you didnt choose them for the team specifically because they are homos, which is gonna be impossible..so asking them "are you homosexual?" is not illegal by any means...maybe if they asked and then said "get the fukk outta here u faqqit" then you would have a point

why ask these questions if they weren't thinking along those lines? They know what they were doing and the wording leads you to believe they thought about it or ran it by lawyers.

you dont think that opens the door for a law suit though? i think its illegal for any company nfl or mcdonalds to ask your sexual prefrence cause it has nothing to do with if you can do the job or not.

ppl can try to sue if they want to, but the fact is the law doesnt care if your feelings are hurt..big companies like the ones youve mentioned will have all the money in the world to combat whatever lawyers the gay player tries to throw at them, and they will have to prove that it was specifically because they were gay that they werent on the team which is near impossible. i agree its a tough situation for that player but it is what it is...maybe the NFL can put a rule out there stating that the question cant be asked and if they do they will receive punishment from the league (no homo).

i think the mcdonalds and NFL put together doesnt truly work either. because one is possibly making you a face of the business whereas at mcdonalds the person is not a BIG representation of your product, rather just somebody taking money and handing out burgers and fries among the other millions of mcdonalds..like if someone really hated gays and got served by a gay dude at mcdonalds (no homo) he might say "aw fukk that im goin to the other mcdonalds next time"..but if they see the gay player on their team they might take to either boycotting the team (some psychos out there would) or trying to protest or some shyt..i think this problem would be mostly in the south..

why ask these questions if they weren't thinking along those lines? They know what they were doing and the wording leads you to believe they thought about it or ran it by lawyers.

youre right and i tried addressing the NFL lawyer situation in the post above ur quote here..but getting halfway there in a court is not likely gonna do anything for you, and thats why theyve thought that out

The same reason why you're not required to disclose your race or religion on job applications. It's discriminatory. LGBT is a protected class.

right, youre not required to answer those, but they ask..

so if someone asks a player "do u have a gf? or have ever had one?" and they say "no comment" .....:shaq:

Yeah I Feel You, I Think They Kind Of Tie In Though

If Were Looking At It In A Very Back And White Sense Im Not Sure "Do You Like Girls?" Is A Legit Work-Football Question

I Mean They Could Ask Guys If They're Racist Too, I Think That Says More About Your Character As A Person And How You Interact With Your Teammates

Im Surprised Not Alot Of Outlets Have Yet To Say The Manti Te'o Fiasco Started All Of This, At Least From What I Seen, No One Is Saying That

I was referencing a player voluntarily coming out. Even to your point all kinds of shyt gets out that's not supposed to get out. Either way no owner would like to be blindsided by that shyt.

The pro-gay agenda runs everything.
You cant even say "gay" in a negative way in movies or TV anymore. If you insinuate anyone's gayness in a perceived negative way now, you have to issue an apology.

An owner who had a gay player would probably get alot more positive press for "handling the situation" than negative press.

It would be a feel good media story.

“Any team or employee that inquires about impermissible subjects or makes an employment decision based on such factors is subject to league discipline.”

Apart from the breaking of league rules, teams who ask those questions could be breaking the law.

“Like all employers, our teams are expected to follow applicable federal, state and local employment laws,” Aiello said. “It is league policy to neither consider nor inquire about sexual orientation in the hiring process. In addition, there are specific protections in our collective bargaining agreement with the players that prohibit discrimination against any player, including on the basis of sexual orientation.”

Most NFL players are black[group thats strongly anti homosexual] or cornfed ass white boys[strongly anti homosexual] an nfl locker room filed with alpha male a$$holes wouldnt be too kind to an openly gay cat

If im paying millions of dollars to a cat in a game like football where chemistrys huge i want to no everything about the player if im gonna invest a lot in him

Makes no sense no gay player would be a active player and be openly gay in no pro sports male wise, they trying to make a living and not trying to mess there money up ...first of all i know for a fact its gay players in the nfl but WE wouldn't know because THEY wouldn't put themselves out there like that, so them asking this to rookies is stupid and irrelevant

If a player comes out saying he's gay do you think he would be cut in the off season hell no cause its gonna look like discrimination specially when rap already got frank ocean out here :heh:

I'm guessing they're looking just as much at the reaction and how the player deals with being asked that...as they're looking at actual answer the player gives.

Teams asking this question is wrong but looking at who's in the NFL and what groups make up typical NFL fans I don't expect there to huge outcry.

I wasnt saying there would be negative press I was pointing to the fact that it would be a fukkin circus. I've been in locker rooms and I have been in the stands at games...political correctness has not spread to those parts of the world. :heh:

ATL…overly
I just find it funny that executives from pro leagues routinely get away with asking leading & discriminatory questions in interviews & get away with it b/c they're "trying to protect their investment." If I asked a candidate his/her sexual orientation I would be fired. & my company sued. Whether a player is gay or not is irrelevant to their job performance. SMH @ Goodell allowing this discrimination :smh:
