How do you feel about Rock being a youtuber and having everybody's name in his mouth now

Same way I wouldn't want to see KRS-One or G Rap with a YT gossip channel. But we're at a point now where a lot of the broke rappers will basically do whatever for a quick check. So I get it. It's just wack to see. We already had a Wendy Williams. We don’t need MC's filling those shoes.

I don't care for it, but like he says in every video, if you want to hear him rap instead, go buy the albums.

Only time I click on any of his industry gossip vids are about the stories he's been personally involved in. Zero interest in the current event vids he does.

The thing is, he actually had a VERY dope podcast about 2/3 years ago that he was doing with Starang that got like damn near no views, where he was interviewing different rappers. The episode with Ras Kass has one of my favorite hip-hop interviews/moments of all time because it was the first time I heard about how tight Ras and Boot Camp had been over the years since the mid-90s. Like really close friends with some funny dope stories they shared. I never knew that and I was the biggest Ras Kass and Boot Camp stan on the planet during that era.

He had another good episode with Pete Rock.

But those vids all got literally like a couple hundred views. Most didn't even crack 1k.

It is what it is. No different than the 90s. The bullshyt gets play, the real shyt gets shelved.

Like people can talk all the shyt that they want about my employer and our competitors. But it would be tasteless if I or someone very senior created a YouTube and did it. Specially if it’s about some shyt that shouldn’t even ever be mentioned — according to old school street rules — such as crime and street politics.

But there’s no rules to this shyt in our community, so who cares

Perhaps, I end up on such shyt on YouTube and it’s always snitches.

But perhaps it’s like you say, clout chasing been poppin since social media blew up. I haven’t found them though. And if they exist, they’re definitely not damn near celebrities. Generally I guess cause other groups are generally not involved in a music genre that mixes music and street shyt. Therefore they remain secret societies. But the Italians had their movies, but with them it’s exclusively snitches I see. And it’s only American Italians not real Italians
