I mean, it would seem kind of weird hopping into a challenger hellcat or audi rs7 and not seeing a fricking stick shift. Hell, even the cts-v is going to have the sports shift. Why did car manufacturers decide to go all euro on us? Now, you're going to be getting chased down by a soccer mom in her husbands Porsche because it's just "so simple" to drive....

meh... it was gonna happen sooner or later with the tech advances. at least you can still buy older cars with a manual gearbox.

besides that, I think within the coming few years, most of the older generation of driver's that are used to driving stick will die out along with the standard gearboxes in cars so the newer generation of driver's won't give a fukk anyway. I doubt it'll affect the U.S. market as much as it would overseas, that's all they drive over there.

the Hellcat Challenger comes in both stick and auto breh.

All of my cars for the most part have been stick and the one I have now is so I'm hurt. It's been moving this way since the early 00's... on the bright side the US won't ban older cars so I should always be able to find something. That said when they stop making current year sports cars in stick I'll be crushed.

I thought this was going to be about the bulbous tip of the shift stick.

Word is paddle shifters give faster shift times. Any verification?
For the most part, yes. The paddle shifter is faster than most humans can operate a clutch, unless you are a professional race driver. Think about this, it was first used on Formula 1 cars.

No clutch shifting isn't new. There have been various manufacturers who built auto transmissions where you can move the stick from D to a plus or minus spot to shift up or down manually, just like a paddle shifter.
High end cars with paddle shifters are getting Formula 1 technology. I don't know if lower-end cars will get them. It seems cheaper to just use a regular auto transmission from a cost point of view..

YOUR AVERAGE CAR HAS SELECTIVE SHIFT BUT IT ISN'T FASTER THAN A STICK. SPORTS CARS GET BETTER VERSIONS THOUGH.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MAKE IT SLOWER IS THE SOFTWARE.

Well, unless you are racing, it's kind of moot.
