I think talk of the death of stickshift is overblown. A lot of cars that only had stickshift because their automatic boxes were BASURA lost em and nobody cared. Nobody is crying for a stickshift Camry 4 banger. But right now we have cars like the Ford ST hatches, the new Mustang, the Cayman GT4 etc. Most small cars like the Civic, Elantra etc come in stickshift. All the affordable performance cars from the GTI to the 911 are available with stickshift. So there aren't as many cars available with stickshift but the ones that have it are
Its all about take rates... cars like the Miata, GTI, Corvette, 911 etc have like a 50% manual take rate compared to like a 0.00000000000000000000000000005% manual take rate in something like a Camry. I'm on my 7th stickshift car and I'm not worried.
