I can't call what's going to happen at the end of it all. If they get $15, more power to them, I think after an extremely long battle they'll settle it around 11 or 12 bucks with some kind of health insurance and a union. An industry this big definitely needs a union.

I never shyt on anybody fighting for more money. These CEO's make my yearly salary in less than a month, and I doubt they have to dedicate as much time or life to the job as I do. They can slice a little ham off the hog so people can eat.

The crazy part is that they have people so twisted up, that regular everyday people get mad when people fight for more bread. It doesn't affect them in the slightest. But they let the CEO's tell them that their burgers are going to be 25 bucks and they believe it. It's a damn shame.

this bothers me as well. They act like by giving workers $15 they have no choice but to raise the prices. Its actually a genious way of deflecting the blame on the workers. as opposed to the CEOs doing the right thing and sharing a bigger peice of the pie to the people who work for them. They get people all riled up thinking the workers are at fault and viola. you got threads like this full of people angry at them for wanting to make a decent living.

Something also tells me the people who are really furious are so because they make $15/hr themselves. It hurts their ego. because lets be real, we were all taught "do well in school and you wont have to be flipping burgers for a living" thats the stigma these jobs have. So dudes really feel threatened by a burger flipper making as much as them. I dont make $15/hr so I could care less if they get $15 or not. In fact id rather they get $15. Maybe it will help lower the poverty rate and these nikkas wont have to be stickin up old ladies or running up in my crib.

This is exactly what it is. Ego's. But if a dude flipping burgers is making 15 bucks, other industries will be forced to raise wages because if you can get 15 flipping burgers and 12 working in a factory, well hell, I'd flip burgers. It's a step in the right direction for the country.

and thats the problem, because the only way they are going to be able to achieve this is by having the CEOS share a bigger piece of the pie. but of course they don't want to do that.

not every job is easily replaceable.

Some companies spend between 20 - 900K every quarter on staffing for "hard to fill" positions.

and the military doesn't just accept anyone. Most young Americans wouldn't even make height and weight standards off top--- then there are over 70 medical conditions or past medical issues that auto disqualify you..... plus for whatever reason some people aren't smart enough to pass the asvab. It's not too difficult to get in the miliart - Any Branch, but each unit is getting millions in advertising for a reason. shyt's not Easy. Then some people wash out in Basic training, tech school, or Officer training .. Thousands of dollars is down the drain when that happens.

And Def not every IT job is easily replaceable -- Some skills are called 'purple squirrels' for a reason. . Even the shyt I do.......... most people haven't even heard of it.

I think a lot of people in this threat are ignorant to this fact. You cant just walk up to a recruiter..sign your life away and go off with your free healthcare and housing. That is not so...they take people off the street and send them through months of training on how to work as a team/ their specialty.

Very true. I'm an E5 in the airforce with 9 years. On the books I make about 32k. But add in incentives like housing, food allotment, and tdy/deployments, I make around 52k. You get paid more to live overseas too.
