Because there is a huge amount of Dominicans/Ricans in NYC. From what I've seen Dominicans/Ricans that are on some shyt usually just avoid Black folk and that's it. Mexicans on the other hand come to the country with some kind of inexplicable hate for Black people and are willing to harm Black folk if they get the chance. You got Mexicans that hop the border on Monday and by Tuesday are already saying "fukk Mayates"

shyt depends breh, like I know some Dominicans that are Afro-Latinos but only see themselves as Latino they don't see themselves as Black, those types won't fukk with AAs at all.

On the other hand I got a bunch of Panamanians I grew up with that are clearly Black and have no problem repping their Afro-Latino heritage. Those kinds rep being Black first, Panamanian second
