How do you handle living several states away from family?

Came home for summers but I thought that would go without saying. During the school year, the only time time I had the urge to go back was for the holidays. Always packed the night before and bounced the second I was done with mid-terms/finals.

I've lived out of state from my kids for 7 years now. used to be hard, but at this point I'm used to it. they come up here regularly tho. well my oldest doesn't anymore cuz she's 22 and has a full time job, but my 15 year old comes all the time. she was here in nov, dec, jan, mar, and now coming on tuesday until july
