How do you handle living several states away from family?

Your family has to love you but with your wife and friends, it depends on which way the breeze is blowing.

It’s definitely a challenge, I went away to high school from my family, and now I’m away from them again in Texas. Moved for a sibling who’s since left and then I had a child. Financially it’s not in my best interest to move “right now” but it’s coming soon (next year) where I can buy a house and not just do the same thing in a more expensive renters market. We talk frequently but ofc it’s not the same and I can’t wait til my son meets my side of our family. He does have his dad and gma here but much smaller.

i live in a different country, my parents came to visit now as we speak, i make sure to speak to family as much as i can and visit as much as I can

Nobody in their 40s with or without a family that they love wants to be secluded like that

Who said anything about being secluded?

How about you just have a social life a build a friend network + date



You're not gonna be secluded by default just because you aren't surrounded by family I mean if you got a lame personality and the only people who want to be around you are family, then I get it, that may be the case for you.


But if you have the ability to make friends (which you should if you are even considering traveling around) you have no excuse log off for a couple of weeks and go touch grass with the community nikka.


Some of yall are just codependent and that's okay, but don't try to paint everyone with that same brush, you're just telling on yourself at that point, everyone doesn't have that same issue

Live in the same state but might as well be across the world.
I live in la and they live in Sacramento. 350 ish miles away

Kinda glad cause most of them maga supporters so i dont see them much and thats cool with me. If they come down theyll visit , or if someone dies ill go there .
I have my kids and my pops with me . Im cool with that .

Once my moms passed everyone seperated and went their own ways.
