How Do You Handle People Who Can't Keep Secrets?

The obvious answer is don't tell them secrets, but this isn't exactly my situation.

I showed a journal of mine with a lot of my private thoughts to this chick I know (platonic) who proceeded to show it to one of her friends (wasn't really tripping off of that) who then pretty much proceeded to show it to everyone she knew. And the rub is they're pretty much laughing at/belittling the shyt I wrote even though the thoughts in the journal were serious as all hell.

There's some things you need to learn to keep to yourself and never tell ANYONE. There's things about me that my friends, siblings, and even parents will never know and thats just the way I like it. A man with the ability to keep his own secrets has a power that most people will never have

You just have to charge it to the game, but honestly man you have to just remember that anyone who says that they don't feel down or sad or whatever is a liar, and if you choose to jot things down in your journal (I have one as well) then that's your perogative, but the truth still remains that you're not the only one in the world who feels that way, and what's that say about the chicks who went around telling people about your journal? Nothing other than they have nothing going on in their lives, because if they did then they wouldn't be focused on gossiping about some dude that they ain't fukking or getting money from.

As for your platonic friend, just cut her off as well. A journal implies some sort of secrecy, and she obviously doesn't respect your friendship nor privacy otherwise she wouldn't have went off and talked to people about it that she knew would tell others about it.

If these people cracking jokes at your expense are people you want to keep in your life then get over it and explain to them that they're joking about serious shyt. If you could care less about these people, then get over it and learn from the experience
