Not an attempt to thread jack but I have been going through similar experiences as the TS. Only differences are I graduated some time ago, with 10+ years experience in Finance and IT and had extended unemployment (over 2 years). I am not where I want to be but between bouts of :to:, I try to stay active (gym, volunteer, etc.). shyt is tough out here. Nonetheless, the feedback in this thread has proven helpful:obama:. Thanks, brehthren.

You have a finance degree and can't find work? There's alot of Finance positions open, that's hard to believe.

If I knew you well enough.
To tell you all the real shyt I been through.
Maybe you would not think so poorly of where you are.

To bad,...
I don't know you like that.

I got real problems,...
Not having a career started thirteen years ago for starters.
I have had a mountain of shyt piled on on top of that.
So, real talk,...stop worrying about everyone else.

I tell homeless guys and women everyday if I can give them sumfin.
Appearances are deceiving,...
you never know who is exactly where you are at or worse, and for longer.

Bops off in rlx, diors and limited edition male juicy couturé leather worth 2 large, broke as fukk, damn near.

I have not read far enough to peep his credentials.
Yet, I know I would peep his credentials in their entirety.
An hr person on the other hand won't read up about him at all.
when they are paid to just adjust benefits on a computer and read resumes.

No, I have finance experience. Degree's in Management Information Systems, essentially Business Administration/ Mgmt with a computer foundation.

I, too, found it hard to believe. It isn't for a lack of trying.

I'm in the land of jobs but with the return of war vets and this "Fiscal Cliff" shyt coming, I've noticed companies starting to provide vet preference and tighten up on the budgets, respectively.

- Somebody already this, but STOP COMPARING YOUR LIFE TO OTHERS'. You don't know exactly what they're dealing with, and what they eat don't make you chit and vice versa. Still, don't Paper Hate.

- Somebody already said this too, but you don't just become positive. Positivity happens when you say positive things, act positively, and train yourself to think positive thoughts.

- Start by making an inventory of your strengths, then go and and strength the fucc out of niccas.

- Keep your mind active. By that I mean, keep yourself busy. Get up and make an agenda of what to accomplish for the day.

- Play the following song 3 times a day. And as it becomes easier, play it as necessary.

I'm going through a bit of a rough patch right now and it's that much harder when it seems like everyone else is eatin' good. I try to be happy for them but I can't deny the very human emotion of envy and disappointment at times.

how do you stay positive?

Having a good woman is a good crutch when life is treating you like shyt. If that love is unwavering and unconditional you can pretty much endure anything.

It goes against human nature, but you must remember never to compare yourself to others. Even the bible says that. Everyone is on a different course and sometimes some people gets theirs earlier than you do, but it doesnt mean you're not gonna get anything.

But you gotta remember that life is not against you, nor is it really favoring anybody else, so just keep ur head "down" in the sense that just keeping working at whatever dream, or thing ur trying to achieve.

Try to be positive and do right by others, and I believe it will come back around to you.

:obama:

Feel like HR folks are just "doing their job" despite already knowing who they gonna hire. Will keep on pressing though.

When I was feeling bummy after I graduated, the best thing I did was deactivate my Facebook and avoid message boards for a while. Most people in those settings only focus on bragging so if you're feeling down, you won't find help there. As for the job search, you just have to keep plugging away. It's a numbers game. Apply to anything and everything that you're qualified for. Just keep grinding until something breaks your way.

It's harder than it sounds but you have to avoid comparing yourself to others (like you said, it's human so you can't completely eliminate it). If you have to compare yourself to someone, compare yourself to your older self from a few years ago and see how far you've come. Just keep moving forward.
