It it takes a lot of effort for me, always trying to improve, and upgrade. I scour online for looks I like, watch what other people are wearing, ask questions to people who dress well, and go to stores that are fashionable, follow the major fashion houses, it is kind of exhausting, and I'm not even that deep into it.

Read NY Times fashion and style, and similar material, I read a Kevin Hart interview, that put me onto John Elliot jeans. In a way, you are never really finished, it is a constant process. Like, things I wore 3 years ago, I see where I needed to improve, some I'm like what the fukk was I doing? and I'm sure I'll see things 3 years from now.

Trying on clothes and experimenting. It's easy for men to dress well, we have much fewer options than women in general.

Pause. But this.

disagree, it can be learned. Or it can be faked, to be honest. You gotta start by experimenting and getting out of your comfort zone.

Learn the basic fundamentals. Look at your closet and throw out the shyt that you dont need.

Take pictures - IG is popping now. Find guys who are rocking an aesthetic you like. Screenshot and save the picture. Break the outfit down.

Figure out what makes it pop. Figure out the pieces you need to complete the look.

Then go and get it.

Assembly line it . Break the steps into pieces. Its a process and the journey doesn't stop. You don't need to splurge or have a walk in closet, but every fella should have the staples.

Being well dressed is a different world. You get treated better at the office, with women, with service, everything.
Man it ain't this fckin deep.

Just cop u a bunch of white Ts, Levi jeans or some baggy sweats if u wanna be comfortable, some timbs or high top forces and u good to go.

All that pretty boy shyt ain't even necessary

Honestly it’s either in your or you a hype beast, my suggestion is to go to malls with women that are cool and they’ll help you. I got my style as a younging from watching 90s movies and fresh prince of bel air

I don't know if you want to follow people, so much as style and what the major fashion houses are doing. If you know people in your personal or professional life that dress well, start with them. I've got tons of things from people that way,

How to wear loafers/drivers, (Ferragmao) with jeans and no socks

How you can "never go wrong in a white (button up) shirt"

People use instagram, which I'm sure is good too. Don't be afraid to ASK WOMEN for an opinion, or advice. They are usually much more interested in fashion/clothes/shoes than men, and enjoy the process.

If you are like me, you will do all this, and still feel you are coming up short, that is kind of how it is.

So far none of you nikkas know how to dress.

I learned from my FATHER, that I need to ALWAYS BE FLY.

Being influenced by the era I grew up with, the 90s. Brand and styles like the lo heads introduced us to, like hiking and workwear, like carhartt and northface. Always being a sneakerhead before there was a strong culture for it. Online message boards like hypebeast, and nike talk

Yeah this basically what I got...BUT

It's like cooking where it never hurts to have some grasp on it. And bytches will choose a dude who knows his fashion even though it might not be in front of you directly, they gossip to they friends about how nice you dress. Almost like adding a layer of intrigue to them (don't ask my why). I've seen this happen in person.

The dude you quoted has his own following btw he knows his shyt.

You don't have to dress pretty, just with some maturity

:jbhmm:...us 80s babies that came of age in the 2000's kinda had a cheat code to be honest because shyt had had to match....by payin attention to color and patterns and contrast...u develop an eye over time...even tho fashion changed...the basics u learned stayed with u...it has to flow and not look forced.....plus its not about paying so much all the time...u have to pick stuff that will age well too...

Maturity is subjective....in your opinion does DMX dress wit maturity?
