Cruises are awesome if you know how to network, be charasmastic, take risks and overall, just enjoy yourself in a semi-isolated setting with the individuals around you.
The chances of being caught up in a cruise disaster is slightly higher than your chances of winning the lottery.
It ain't that serious.
Until it gets serious, but chances are, it won't.

Why you say that

I have already had the experience of being on a ship, sailing in open water, from one country to another - but on a Navy deployment. It's more of an "ignorance is bliss" of thing.

Having had to train in ship safety, watching folks actually pilot a ship, having to learn about the systems that make things run...it's hard to be on a ship and not see it from that point of view. On a navy ship, everyone is trained on what part they play in a ship emergency; I imagine on a cruise ship, people are just there to have fun and likely just defer to the people running the ship for what to do if shyt goes awry.

Memories of tiny ass berthing areas, nasty ass bathrooms and just multiple opportunities to get lost aren't helpful either lol. The ship aside, being on open water itself like that is unnerving.

Even if we just thinking safety, there are always contingencies and plans in place to get you away from the danger. Unless someone were to Allah Ackbar directly into a boat, or safety regulations went back to the lackadaisical precautions pre-titanic, a cruise is pretty safe and even more so, fukkin' fun if you can hang with it.
The Cruise ship industry isn't trying to fall into Boeing's level of negligence since none of the major lines are protected on the level of Boeing, but the instances are creeping up slowly but surely.​

As you should've. The only people I'd say shouldn't be on cruises are people who can get sea/motion sickness to the point they can't function.
Every cruise I've been on, there were always pockets of first timers who had a dreadful experience because they couldn't handle the subtle but substational tilting/leaning/rocking that comes with being on a boat for extended periods of time.
You notice that shyt affecting you when you finally hit on land and find yourself leaning automatically to compensate for what your mind quickly adjusted to on the ship.

I went and watched a whole YouTube channel about modern cruises that sunk after those dudes died in the submarine. Pretty much all of them took hours and most of them got all their passengers off, most of who died fell off the ship or were impacted by debris. That said, those clips spanned 30 years and it was like 6 sunk ships, cruising is safe.


I love being out on the open water, it’s relaxing, there’s a shyt ton of places to be and relax. And if you have you own balcony (the only way to cruise) laying out on that bytch at night looking at the stars/moon and hearing the water I don’t do cruises for the ports as most have such limited time, but I thoroughly enjoy #boatlife - big and small

shyt's even worse when you sleeping/staying on the lower decks, because you literally feel the ship rocking (pause) cause you practically in the hull, tipping. That shyt had my fam almost as bad as you to the point they promised to NEVER be in them lower decks again and booked Balconies/top suites from there on out.

They do, but you gotta be careful.
There are smugglers that carry the shyt on, so it's best to make 'friends' with 'em if you spot/hear about 'em discreetly, but I always made sure I got in good with staff (Bartenders/Waiter(ress) and a few times, the folk that do the cleaning 'cause they low level) to the point where I almost always met up with the crew that brought it in to sell because crew aren't as scrutinized in searches as passengers.

These folk were always black or some kind of Asian. Never risked it with Cac, European white or anyone else. Plus, I've seen HELLA Indians working security and they all gather together like Voltron to hit you with that hating Sanjeet energy if you get too close/chummy with staff, since it's prohibited for Staff to fraternize with guests even though you both consensual adults.
I used to slip a portion of my Casino winnings to the Asian (Philippino, Malaysian? I dunno. The brown Asians) guys who be on top deck cooking the 24 hour pizza and they always hooked me up with bottles of liquor and ounces of weed because those tips (pause) really go a long way for them cats, since they don't make much on them shyts.​

The same way they make you listen to the inflight instructions on how to fasten your seatbelt, Cruise ships make you learn where your life vests are in your cabin as well as usher you to your muster station, which is printed on the vest and show you where the life boats are. You'll pass them so much they gonna look like boat ornaments.​

Did a carnival cruise to Cozumel , Ocho Rios , and Grand Cayman in like 2010.

Flew to Miami and didn't take any with me , but at each stop I bought some and at the Jamaica port the Jamaicans searched me lol. Outta all places. They looked all through my bookbag and I turned my pockets out. Couldn't find it

After leaving the dock you go through a metal detector and x ray for the bags.
