I think it really depends on the country Poitier, but i think numerically speaking West Africa is still majority Muslims. Countries such as Senegal, Mali, Mauritania(i understand at times they don't consider themselves West Africa, but part of Al Magreb countries)Niger, Guinea, and Nigeria(), Burkina Fasco, are Muslim majority countries. With Nigeria case it is nearly 50/50, but with the statistic in Nigeria seems to be very unreliable from what i was reading on wikipedia and other websites. Nigeria population still has a very significant amount of Muslims.

Agree to disagree on this one, the world is soooo interconnected in comparison than past civilizations, which was isolated in comparison to today world, what i am saying the whole world would be affected. From a African person point of view, and since we do business outside our region "with said" countries and superpowers, it would definitely have an effect. Because no region on earth is a isolated island anymore, unless you are a small Amerindian tribe in the Amazon Bason.

There is no more isolation but like we've seen before, after wars and ecoomies collapse the talent will flee to wherever is left standing and bring the knowledge with it.

Look at how all the engineering talent that left Germany after WW2 to come to the U.S. and helped make it the technology powerhouse it eventually became. So if all the big boys start popping nukes at eachother and destroy eachother, whoever kept their nose clean and out of that war will benefit greatly by just sitting back and being there to pick up the scrap left overs from the corpse

But again, my bet is still that some states will start to bicker with the federal gvt and secede from the Union so they can have more power and keep their money. The same way the 13 colonies did to leave the British Empire to become their own country: The United States of America.

A war against China and Russia combined won't end the US. It'll hurt but the Continental United States will not see any foreign armies land on our shores in our life time. Barring any nukes launching, the worst would probably be enemy occupation of our Pacific holdings.

Politically, I can see some sort of natural disaster disrupting the lives of millions of people and the federal government being overwhelmed and unable to establish law and order in the affected areas. after some time, those people are gonna give up hope on the government and start fending for themselves, militia and regional warlords will flourish throughout the land, some areas will controlled by the federal government, some will be controlled by allied armed groups of the government and other areas will effectively be no go areas for the feds.

The Chinese were in isolation far too long to build up their economy only to plunge themselves into such high stakes war.

I love the fact that they are arming themselves because you need balance in order to sustain peace. If you didn't have other powers in the world to compete with I believe the U.S. would be taking random military action as they please around the world. See Panama and Noriega. Syria would have been occupied by now if Russia didn't step in and back their man.

For that reason alone yes I like it that we have many powers. But those super powers will never engage in a war because they all know they have far too much to lose
