How do you think the younger generation views "old" sports highlights?

Like for example, when they see 90's NBA highlights, are they pretty much like :russell:???

Because to me growing up, when they would show stuff from the 60's-70's, I was always like :ld:

The only difference is, sports looked so much differnt from between the 1970-90's as opposed to the 90-present day.

I can't imagine young ppl seeing highlights of Olajuwon, Jordan, Kemp, Deion Sanders etc and being disinterested. But the older ppl prob couldn't imagine a younger me being disinterested in Oscar Robertson or Wes Unseld highlights.

What do y'all think?

How can anyone say this isn't absolutely filthy and humiliating? I don't care what era you played in, an exciting play is exciting. And the game hasn't changed all that much in terms of athleticism and skill since the 90s. Prime Shawn Kemp would still do Kemp things regardless of when he played. That goes for any superstar really.

Kemp pointing at Lister afterwards makes the whole poster complete :mjlol:

there hasn't been that much of a shift in the game from the 90's-today in the NBA, but the game was markedly slower and more fundamental in the 60's/70's. NFL has a higher volume of passes and offensive scoring today, but the 80's-early 00's have much better defensive highlights. baseball highlights are underwhelming no matter the period :heh:

but yea, i don't see people being :ld: about 90's highlights, the games look the same for the most part.

i'm not sure what you're questioning as you highlighted part of my sentence that went on to talk about the game being slower in the 60's-70's

if you're talking about the 90's-today, the athleticism, skill, and pace is still the same, biggest change is less dominant bigs and high scoring PG's, but that doesn't truly affect the aesthetic of the game, on which highlights are built.

The game in the 60s and 70s was notably faster than it is today. The NBA game slowed down to damn near a halt in the 90s/early 2000s and has recently gotten faster again, but still not as fast as it was back in the day.

i disagree completely, you're telling me this is anywhere near the pace and excitement of the 90's/00's :dahell:

Excitement is in the eye of the beholder and not indicative of pace.

1961 Boston Celtics avg. 121 ppg (3rd) and 131 in pace (2nd)
2001 Sacramento Kings avg. 105 ppg (2nd) and 96 in pace (1st)
