What are your thoughts on AOC?
I think she was really what the left needed, but I find what she has become is really gravitating towards where the twitter wind blows.
Fighting for identity issues like LatinX and shyt.

But maybe there's alot of other things that did not cross my path that she been doing.
Do ya'll see her as the same, or was there slight change or a sea change?

I knew it would always end up this way. The bernie bros didn't understand politics so when she would have to do something unpopular her legion of fans wouldn't understand.

She didn't position herself well enough for the pivot, either.

If anything, if she pushed for actually increasing the size of the House of Representatives, she could at least stick to her message without having to compromise so much.

I knew your corny ass was going to be the first one in this thread.

Just saying nonsense as usual.

My stance has not changed.

She's not "what the Left needed" but she is an important figure for pushing for genuine progressive policy.
She's not "gravitating toward where the Twitter wind blows" she has, for the entirety of her career in office, grounded herself in oft-popular, long standing positions, pushed for policies that are universally beneficial and necessary considering the issues we're currently facing (climate change, infrastructure decline, the continued exploitation of the Global South, police brutality, mass incarceration, alienation and the erosion of working-class rights, etc.)

"Identity issues" proceed AOC by centuries and one has to be an ahistorical and illiterate moron to claim they're new, even the latest form of these "issues" are very rarely less than 30 years old.

She has shown the need for mass-change in the Democrat's strategy, in voting access, in proportional representation, and in priority for the political classes. We need hundreds more of her in offices across the nation.

You’re just a talking point machine of progressive punditry. Look you get what you can get not what you keep ranting about. She’s incredibly unsuccessful compared to her ability to just say shyt she can’t get done, not yet at least. The fact none of you know who Lauren Underwood is bothers me to no end.

Few disagree with her preferred vision of the world, but who cares? Fix the here and now and push forward. Stop selling dreams and do politics.

She's hasn't changed much really.

She seems to have good political instincts, but I think much of her effectiveness was stunted when the media positioned her and the squad as merely being cheerleaders for Bernie sanders now that he's burned out twice, it seems folks seem confused about the squad.

She's fine.

once she gave in to mama bear, it left her stans in the hilarious position of juelzing why their queen was going soft on the evil neoliberal machine

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
she’s part of a coalition that not big enough to overtake the DNC.

She’s in a relatively safe district ensuring her tenure, but prospective candidates are not and are constantly blocked by the DNC.

Unless Progressives actually start winning seats, AOC will remain a polarizing talking point/villain to republicans and centrist democrats.
