I already live in ATL and also live in one of the popping hoods atm. I know some people through mutual acquaintances but I'm a socially awkward muthafukka sometimes and don't wanna fukk up my 1st impressions. Also it's the street politics and shyt I'm not really in tune with for the most part.

So in short, How would I get connected to the existing industry/infrastructure in my city? I know about going to events and performing my music but I still need the connections lol.

I wouldn't worry about it my friend and I'm not being an a$$hole. If you live in one of the livest areas of Atlanta and have to come here to ask for advice in getting on then you don't have the confidence to do it.

Don't go the internet route if you're pressed to make it big fast.. Because you (likely) won't

Now if you know a YT personality you can try and get in contact with em especially during a live show/podcast and direct people to your shyt if you sounded interesting in general earlier

Otherwise if you're going the old fashion route.. The game far as I know ain't change much.. Like always, Lisa can help you out.. She been through it in your exact city to know what it takes

:salute: This still applies

Just a lone rapper.?

I would think you need a producer, studio, videographer, other mcs, singers, DJ, promoter.

You need all of the above by the way.

So.

You need to join an existing crew. Once part of a crew, you then do your thing and start to shine.

As a total loner? Make some music somehow and play it wherever you can. If you make a dope song, the rest will take care of itself. Give it away for free and people will pass it around. If it's dope.

Can you do anything other than rap?
If you can't, learn to engineer, produce, or promote....and approach an OLDER person affiliated with them and offer said service for free. "I see we likeminded folks, I'm up an coming and new around here, what's the best way to get noticed? Do y'all need any extra college promo, internet promo, etc.
Hang around venues and smoke with people, soak up information about venue capacity, their promo methods, and where the money is coming from, soak up convos and throw phrases and new slang in your verses. Don't seem too eager, be nonchalant but energetic in approach. SMILE.
This what did and it worked out :yeshrug: cept for the smiling shyt lol.

Charm disarms...
I mean sure with white people most nikkas don’t like a friendly ass nikka.

Putting all your shyt on the table will get you farther with a street nikka than putting up airs. Most them nikkas are so used to people tryna play them that they appreciate the honesty.

You have to pay for that, fam.
Name a direct, honest 100 plays to 1 mil jump...without cac blog/playlist/collab/fake views/cosign...unless breh has heavy camera work and a lot of original ideas, even that won't work. The Coli hasn't blown anybody up..We're honest haters.
KTT nikkas and their plants in here, are dishonest follower/supporters.
They have no problem with fake numbers, getting extorted, having writers, using stage age, and cooking your story....ONLINE.
That takes capital and a rapport, hiring a nikka like @3Rivers and @ba'al to make memes, somebody like @ISO to get your name in the right heads, and a @RichYung to make sure it moves smoothly. Nobody "just uploads a song"...it takes a team to promote that, multiple fb pages, and girls fukking with your shyt.
It ain't impossible:yeshrug:

depends on who you are...that dude isn't "tough" he said he was socially awkward...
I'm not a hella tatted up mophead nikka...I look a certain way and I like to smile, so it ain't fake with me. "most nikkas don't like friendly ass nikkas"...YEAH, KIDS.

Pay for and book a venue and consistently showcase your high quality work in said venue. Get a publicist and do it yourself.

If you are skilled for real it will draw eventually.
If it is not cultural tho. You pouring jelly on ya self. As you just gon defeat the purpose and have disconnect to what quality is.
You will then attract a negative prison industrial culturally removed audience. Which won't aid you at all because gsngsta rap fans only respect the pr payola paid for ball of steam created and manufactured non-organically.
that eclipses some mythical ideal of being hot.
they have constructed to be on the prison industrial economy books as their pathway to drawing largely in a pop mainstream context.

Be skilled and culturally positively aware.
Book a venue
Market venue and pr venue.
Hire a publicist.
Put on consistent showing in said pr'd venue.
