They make good money. In NYPD by your fifth year you start making 90k a year. Detectives make about 120K a year. So they make good money. The boys are only struggling in their first 4 years in the force after that they caking. Not to mention they do side hustles like doing security at Yankees,Mets,Knicks and Nets games. I took an Uber from Yonkers to Manhattan and the driver was a cop and he said he was a sergeant making 145k a year. That is why they got move to nice areas in Long Island or Westchester county.
