How does Drake get credit for "making hit records" when he doesn't write or produce?

The same way artists have always gotten credit for songs they didn't write and produce. I mean, people have thrown around how having records written and produced for you in other genres doesn't apply to Hip Hop, well the same goes for hit records. A hit is a hit regardless of genre. Credit is given to the performer(s), the writer(s), and the producer(s). Casual music fans will only recognize the performer.

Making hits yes no one is doubting that breh but a ghostwriter is not rap or hip hop. The music group Drake is a POP group. I thought this was a hip hop forum smh.

It's still music no doubt.. But it's not rap or hip hop....:youngsabo:It's Pop music.

THIS is what I don't get. :mindblown:

Writers/Producers don't get the credit they deserve... but that's neither hear not there. The fact that Drake gets a pass because he makes hit records contradicts the whole premise of him not writing his own music. SOMEONE ELSE is making the hit records. Drake just mimics someone's hits.

This isn't like R&B because a singers voice can change the whole make up of a song. Rap is different. Lyrics and hook instrumentals. Drake doesn't have the best voice, flow or delivery. In fact he borrows flows depending on what record he jumps on. So how does one get credit for "making hit hit records" :dahell:

Lauren Hill caught back lash because it came out she didn't write/produce her debut record. She was never the same after that. I know I'm beating a dead horse but gotdam the ignorance is so blatant its hard not to go :wtf:

Yeah, that was the reason Lauren Hill went absolutely crazy. :comeon:

People have been writing for him since the beginning. Too many allegations and I personally know one of the writers. Son has had ghosts since "Replacement girl" era. Why are you defending a fraud so hard?
My favorite rappers may be losers that take Ls (Royce da 5'9, Nas, TI)...but they write their own shyt.
NO REFERENCES.
Royce actually wrote "the message" for Dr. Dre...I don't even think the R&B shyt he "wrote" is something written by him.
I already KNEW the nikka didn't write for years...Now you know and can't accept it.
We're two different types of men.
You're A. bytch nikka who likes adult contemporary r&b in rap format
I'm B. Real nikka invested in the authenticity of hip hop...from the source...and from the heart...Written by the artist performing the songs. The artist talking about his own life experiences. Not a sheltered halfcac jew from a rich part of toronto who didn't start hanging around brehs until he was trying to get on with rap. I look deeper into things because I'm an artist myself...I actually like some of the Drake Production and Songwriting Workshop's music. You LOVE it.
If you LOVE fake shyt, you are a fukk nikka. Flat out.
Evidence is there...nothing more needs to be proven. We're rubbing it in because it's funny. You keep talking about a Meek beef but this has grown past the youngbul from Philly. You will never forget the simp you cape for is 100% fugazi. From the discovery story to the writing...He's even a snitch in real life. Cosign snitches who don't even write their own bars...but they'll write statements.

You're a build a bear ass nikka...I'm American steel...we shouldn't be debating.
DAMN! *kayslay voice*

No youre ignorant and elitist

America is a democracy, that means majority rules

Whataburger, subway, and all the random corporations that gave their input on this situation dont care. Their opinion matters more than yours

Radio dj's have already said the ghostwriting thing doesnt matter. Yeah, they might have ulterior motives for saying that, but who cares? They said it so that means they must mean it

Q miller said he didnt do much writing for drake. What are you gonna believe? A reference track or a written statement from someone on the ovo payroll?

It doesnt matter who writes lyrics. Hundreds of rappers write their own lyrics and they dont have anywhere near drakes success so that proves writing lyrics is one of the least important aspects of hiphop

-production you rap over
-connections
-spins on the radio
-touring
-how much you get per show

Thats what matters

Quentin miller writes lyrics and sells no records
Drake doesn't soend all day writing lyrics like a weirdo hermit because he has other things to do

Writing lyrics is inefficient

If youre the boss of a company are you gonna spend 8 hours a day doing spreadsheets or will you have a flunkee do it for you? In your world if you dont do the spreadsheet then youre not the boss

Drake went platinum and youre mad.

My rapper sold more than your rapper.

I win you lose.

Kill yourself right now

Yeah I'm new to the site lol so I'm just getting hip to their ways.

But i know before this shyt "Drake was wack for being soft" and was never considered good.

Now it's "oh he was only good because he had a ghostwriter" even tho the shyt still not proven yet lol.

How is it still not proven ? fukk out of here.

Why do people keep saying pac had people writing for him?

Everybody that knew him said he was able to write entire songs in minutes

I find it hard to believe he needed help with writing unless it was like hooks or something
