How does Drake get credit for "making hit records" when he doesn't write or produce?

THIS is what I don't get. :mindblown:

Writers/Producers don't get the credit they deserve... but that's neither hear not there. The fact that Drake gets a pass because he makes hit records contradicts the whole premise of him not writing his own music. SOMEONE ELSE is making the hit records. Drake just mimics someone's hits.

This isn't like R&B because a singers voice can change the whole make up of a song. Rap is different. Lyrics and hook instrumentals. Drake doesn't have the best voice, flow or delivery. In fact he borrows flows depending on what record he jumps on. So how does one get credit for "making hit hit records" :dahell:

Lauren Hill caught back lash because it came out she didn't write/produce her debut record. She was never the same after that. I know I'm beating a dead horse but gotdam the ignorance is so blatant its hard not to go :wtf:

Actually delivery and voice is very important in making a rap record and certainly in making a hit. Having a good delivery and voice is not something easy to come by :heh: Those QM reference tracks were absolutely dead and colorless until Drake breathed life into them

And Drake's got one of the clearest and smoothest deliveries in the game :dahell:

How many times do we need to say it. Drake is the golden boy in the industry. The machine is all behind him. Too much money behind him for it to fall apart. I agree being from Toronto, dude is a massive fraud I don't want the nikka representing my city, but nothing can be done.

If it's exposed that hes gay, the industry will somehow find a way to back it up. The man can't lose, he has a lot of "connects" in the industry. I think he has more pull than any other hip-hop artist in the industry, except for maybe Em and Dre, and they were only powerful because of Jimmy Iovine.

You made this thread 10 times already

People keep copping the same please and making the same excuses. I have to dumb down what should be obvious. If you gonna be a fraud then say what you are. You're not an artist you're an actor playing a rap star and should be treated as such.

Drake is no different than Anthony Mackie playing Papa Doc in 8 Mile. or Terrance Howard playing a rapper in Hustle Flow. Its the same difference.

If he can do this well with ghostwriters who are inferior to him inagine how unstoppable he will be once he writes everything himself. :wow:

How do Actors win Oscars?

This is a stupid thread

:sas1: EXACTLY..

The sad part is fans don't know the difference. Being a rapper isn't about being an artist no more. It's about acting out a lie. Teh problem with this is that it destroys the integrity of the genre as a whole. If fans don't care if someone writes then that's a clear indication that they don't respect the art of being a lyricist. Radio DJ's are mouth pieces for the stations who only care about advertising revenue. They don't give a shyt of a dog can bark on a track. As long as its a "hit" they will defend it. Other rappers won't call out fukkery like this because they only care about money. A classic example of selling out. They all on his tit just to make a quick buck. It's a slave mentality. Nas pointed this out on Black Zombies.
