Everybody not named Tebow torched that shytty ass defense.

Exactly. That's why I hate this so and so outplayed so and so nonsense. When that bum Delhomme lit up the Pats and Brady lit up the Panthers those were two good defenses. Brady went up against an elite defense and Eli ran up against the Pats. The Pats that had a dedicated thread on SOHH about how every QB gets their numbers up when they play them. The Pats that made Joe Flacco look like an all-timer. Eli only puts up 17 against that defense and I'm supposed to be sitting here acting like he showed me something about him I didn't already know?

The media laughed at him because at the time that shyt was blasphemous. At no point in his career did it ever even deserve consideration. He's a very good QB, and elite if you line up all the NFL's QBs but let's not be ridiculous. Eli is not Brady or his brother and he's not putting up numbers without elite talent at wide out. That's not a knock.

If Eli had to play the Giants defense, he'd be :deadrose:

If Brady had to play the Pats defense, :eat::eat::mj:

Eli's starting to become overrated. He tore up some bad defenses during this second superbowl run and stayed out of the way of the Giants D during the first one, but let's not get carried away. Flacco torched that Pats defense in the same way.

Yes because so many teams tore up that 49ers defense last season.

:umad:

I guess he's gonna have to demolish the Steelers, Ravens, Bengals & 49ers defenses in order to get your respect this season, or it'll be a step back huh?

No. He'll be right where he's at. I'm not mad. I'm just saying what I said all of last year and it applies to every QB.

People were saying that Rodgers last year was better than Brady or Peyton had ever been. What did I say? He'll run up against the Giants or 49ers and that shyt will stop. What happened? They ran up against a team that could play them and he wasn't looking so invincible. I backed Eli's clutchness in 4th quarters because he was battle-tested, but he's nowhere near as battle-tested as Brady or Peyton and he's not as talented as Rodgers (more proven in big games and playing from behind though). He's not as consistent as Brees.

If he's top 5 then he's number 5. But all this garbage about this guy outplayed this guy is ridiculous when not taking defense into consideration. Brady played better against the Giants defense than any other QB last postseason and just happened to make two big errors. But Eli's performance against the Pats was no better and probably worse than Flacco's. So how did he separate himself? He's no better a QB today than he was midway through last season. His position only changed in the eyes of the media.

The Pats defense sucked but it was the SB. These dudes had time to prepare and they played their best game. Stop hating on Eli

show the video not two pictures he had to completely adjust his body and catch a ball behind him gtfoh

Does not matter if he had to do a fukking triple axle, with a backflip. The ball hit him square in his hands. And he dropped it.

Wack thread, Brady is still a HOFer and will be remembered as the standard bearer of his generation, no amount of championing Eli will erase the fact that the 199 pick rose and became EVERYTHING that a certain 1st rd pick in 98 was supposed to be.

This why I think Brady is done winning Superbowls, Brady can't possibly recover, especially with their shytty defense these days

:rudy:

Just like Brady could not recover from not completing the perfect season, then he could not recover from having that knee injury :yeshrug: as long as the team keeps performing at a good level he has every chance at another ring.

Eli doesnt own Brady. Eli owns the Patriots defense in the SuperBowl. I dont see Brady rushing the passer and covering wide receivers.

losing twice in the big game on the biggest stage affects your legacy.

doing it twice at the hands of the same guy who marches down the field each time doing everything right in the clutch, while one or two of your decisions are questionable affects your legacy.

spygate affects your legacy.

18 wins, and 1 big ass loss affects your legacy.
