The Salem News: Moulton Backs Mattis for Defense Secretary

Massachusetts Democrat coming out in support of Mattis...

“I think he would be fantastic,” Moulton said. “He has led one of the most significant commands of our nation (Central Command overseeing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan). He is a deep thinker and a student of history. He has a library of something like 6,000 books. That’s precisely the kind of thoughtfulness and perspective we need in our secretary of defense.”

While Moulton agrees with Trump in this case, it’s probably because Trump is unaware of Mattis’ abilities beyond his nickname of “Mad Dog,” Moulton said.
“I think Mr. Trump believes this is just some tough-guy general,” he said. “He just doesn’t know Gen. Mattis well enough to realize he’s one of the smartest, most thoughtful, best strategic thinkers that we have. (Trump) doesn’t know any better. His ignorance is a blessing for sanity.”

Mattis also happens to be the most qualified person Trump has nominated so far, especially for that cabinet position.
Wasn't the most well liked person in the bldg when I worked in DC. There's a modicum of decorum that's required for SECDEF and I don't believe he has it. Super smart but talks out of his ass a lot. Hence why marines love him so much. Petraus would've been the better option or even McChrystal

It works well in South America, Asia, and Africa.

America is what it is, if you move too far to one side it nudges you back and Obama was clearly averse to the military. People discount how much he pushed them around. From the day they tried to jam him in the Afghanistan troop withdrawals he's kicked them all over the place and everything else he's gone dragging and screaming. He's fired many of his generals and even attempted to lock them up, thrown ground troops into the bushes using only special forces and drones to conduct his military adventures. 8 years at war and no Gen Schwarzkopf's or Patton's. Petreaus and McChrystal, actually talented individuals, put their heads above water and Obama fukked them up :stopitslime: All you got was some sniper dude that got his brains blown out by his fellow soldier due to PTSD at a shooting range in freaking Texas. Even Seal Team 6 fell back and Obama took all the credit. :whew:

Here's clear evidence of Obama's 'otherness'. Like most non westerners know, the military stays in the barracks and only shows up if its end of times because nothing good ever comes out of a bunch of under-educated folks with big guns having political power. And its not the west point educated general that takes over but his underling who's spent time with the troops...and says its a short term take over until he calls for elections and then they'll all go back to the barracks...and then he says the new candidates are just as corrupt as the old ones so he puts himself on the ballot...and he leaves his boys with their big guns in the streets...and through fear the public votes him in...and then he asks for a Constitutional amendment and now you got yourselves a junta. :blessed:
See Morsi :ehh:
