In light of Dave Chappelle's special we see other groups like the LGBTQ community and feminists attacking our FBA brother.

It seems that these other groups co-opt our pain for their own progress with no reciprocity. I'm sick of nikkas waving the flag for others while we get scraps :stopitslime:

So what the fukk does this shyt do for us?!

LGBTQ and feminists don't include Black people? Don't get me wrong, I'm pro Dave all the way, but we have to stop acting like FBA is exclusive to Black men. Oh, and don't forget the person who coined FBA....is a fukkin grifter. The only intersectionality he's interested in is your money intersecting with his bank account.

He's married to a non-Black woman though. Does he only retain his FBA brother status because he's successful?

:jbhmm:
The women from the combahee crew that coined "protointersectionaiity" were all lesbians and one was married to a white man.
The woman who coined intersectionality is the member of a majority white male intellectual fraternity.
The woman who coined intersectionality gutted Obama's "My Brother's Keeper" plan to include girls.
No girl's programs were extended or expanded to include boys, they don't need to be.
Intersectionality is a lesbian grift funded by the same white people you're speaking about "FBA" to.
Black Americans are Hypodescendants. If your people are from the islands, africa, or south america, you don't get to speak on any mixtures or movements. Just keep your heads down and work, that's what you're here for. That's what y'all say you do.
Don't "shake up the boat" now - if you are NOT Ados/FBA/Soul Black, go home and attempt to "shake shyt up" there, and see what happens to you.
shyt won't even make the news.

Get together with like-minded people and create a group to get what you want.

It doesn't.

It has some Black women thinking they share some sisterhood with white women because they are both oppressed by "patriarchy".
It has people including Black men in the category of "patriarchy" because we are men.

Exactly, black men as a group never benefitted from patriarchy in this country...I stay far away from bytches who think otherwise

From what I understand of intersectionality, it is not this sort of static or fixed ideology but manifest and morphs differently based on a particular situation.

Intersectionality holds that black trans women are the demographic most affected by systems of oppression across class, sex, race, and gender.

But intersectionality would also say that this is not the case when looking at issues one by one.

With respect to police brutality and criminal justice, intersectionality would hold that *straight* black men are the demographic most affected by systems of oppression.

When it comes to employment, intersectionality would say that *straight* black women and *gay* black men benefits from privilege in a way that *straight* black men and black trans women don’t, especially when you look at the rates in which black men participate in the drug game or trans women with sex work, so straight black men and trans women are most affected by systems of oppression in employment.

My understanding is that intersectionality should be used as a lens to break down systems of oppressions, but these systems differ and affect demographics differently across issues. One demographic may experience privilege in one issue but oppression in the other.

People who don’t really understand the idea think it’s static across the board when it’s not.
