How Does One Man Play an Arab, Mexican and Samoan?

This reminds me of a show I was watching where the two characters were supposed to be mother and son, but the mother's actress was Samoan and the son's actor was Indian.

They really took the two brown people in the cast and made them related like nobody would know.
