Same reason as Rihanna. Catchy songs. Junk food music.

I know this thread is about Pitbull but I wonder if Flo-Rida ever knew he would be filthy rich from selling pop songs. I bet he wanted to be a hardcore rapper growing up but money talks. Like yall stated, Pitbull and Flo-ridas songs arent played on black/urban radio stations yet they are probably richer than 95% of rappers.

I'm sure it could apply to both artist tho. They had an idea of what they wanted their music to sound like, But they ended up finding a sound that worked better commercially. Can't blame em :manny:
They may not have the lyrics, but they definitely have a genre within hiphop of their own.

I ain't mad cuz he getting money, but how the fukk is he as big as he is? I thought he was gunna be a one hit wonder after "Culo". I know he was around before that song but that was his first big hit. He's doing commerials, shows and shyt. Is it just the Miami club scene and the Cubans holding him down so strong?
:lupe:

He knew he wasn't going to make a career being a Lyrical MC and took the route of dance music that truthfully has made him a Global star and made him more money than if he just stuck to be a "Miami Rapper". I ain't mad at the dude. I got a chance to meet him briefly in 1996 when he looked like this

DJ Laz and his people were calling him the "Next Pun" to all of us laughing of course, but even then we knew he was going places.

:salute: Salute to Pit. Dude is one of the hardest working entertainers today love or hate him.

Him and Flo-Rida but it figured out. Just make dance/party music for the top 40 clubs. Don't worry about street credibility, keeping it real, keeping it hood, keeping it hip-hop, or keeping it anything.

They make corny garbage, but I respect hustle.

he doesn't give all his music away for free on mixtapes then come out with an album a few months later and expect ppl to throw money at it.

He works hard. You never see dude out of pocket, he found his lane and he ran with it. I'm not the biggest fan of all his music - not going to lie, there are some cuts that I bump - but his work ethic is undeniable.
